i know its queer, quoting myself, but honestly imagine it! 1-0 down in cup final, last minute corner, everyone crowds into the box. you deliver an inswinger, their keeper flaps, a defender doesn't clear properly. the ball falls to your keeper, he scuffs it into the back of the net. PES6 would be worth it just for that

PS. obviously you end up winning in extra time or pens, otherwise that destroys the magic slightly

This already happens in some matches in injury time or near full time when you're losing, it was in PES4 as well. Not sure if you can actually make the keepr come up, but it does definitely happen at present.

I know all you guys are suggesting very nice little additions, but I can't see that any of those will be a revolution - just incremental changes.

What we really need is real defensive and offensive AI.

1. Defenders that actually mark up

2. Attackers that make intelligent runs, based on space.

3. Defenders that spot the runs of opposition players and GO WITH THEM.

I could go on forever, but what we really need is a change in philosophy from Konami about how they make their game. The changes from PES4 to PES5 are differences and not improvements. The way the Ref favours CPU in ML, The insane amount of fouls, the way a player turns so slowly, the way they can't pass any direction but straight in front of them - The way slow defenders CATCH UP to Henry - These are all ARTIFICIAL ways of trying to make the game harder because Konami were either unwilling or unable to improve the AI.

If Konami were limited by the PS2's processing power then perhaps that's OK, but then they should have released PES5 for half the price knowing it was half an update (or not even half).

If they were unable because they don't see the HUGE flaws in the game, then we are in trouble because when PES6 comes around it will be updated graphics, updated squads, more licences and STILL NO AI

Hopefully it is a case of the former and then we can hope Konami will actually improve the game.

I'd have to agree, in some ways the game play has taken a step backwards from PES4. Playing with a mate on the same side and you'll see - I've been playing pro evo with the same person for about 3 or 4 years, and this edition has frustrated us in one main way - when you're on the same side, it's really diffcult to get full control of the players when you need to react quickly - say the ball runs free, i change player to get it, and my friend changes player to make a run for me to pass to him - the immediate player reaction is to run towards the ball and therefore me - this immediately means some of the initiative is lost as you have to super cancel to get control of the player again - it can get really frustrating and it seem much harder to score great 2 player goals. Another failing is when running down the wings, the other player will be trying to select someone in the box so I can cross it, but it can take forever to get the right player!

The game is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but these 2 points need addressing as they really affect the 2 player on one side game - which for me is when pro evo is at it's best.

I agree with you stu1977.

Good to see someone does! It's a real shame as well 'cos PES4 was such a great game to play with someone on your side, PES5 is a better game, just not quite there when playing with someone. I just hope they address the issue for PES6.

I think it would be cool to be able to put your face onto the game, so it actually looks like your playing in the team. I'm sure with the new eyetoy for ps3 this could be possible, would be pretty cool scoring for your fave team and doing a cool little celebration.

PES6 would be better if Konami has all the divisions of the major leagues, with second divisions, relegation, etc.

Continued improvements to the kit editor and the ability to edit kits of licensed teams as well ( the official licensed kit should be the default).

No Re-Gens of retired players.

An evolving database of new players based on randomly generated names in each country.

Continued game-play improvements.
