This is true, but I must note Kev that my games against you were terrible lag-wise. I don't suffer half as bad as that against Sully or Duggano for example, it may have been we just got unlucky and it was even worse than usual. You're also forgetting that we cleared off another 4-1 win for me, the 3-2 would be the most lag free for you as you were hosting. We all know the lag can be insufferable and we just have to sporting about it.

Yeah that's the conclusion I've had to come to. Just had to let it out on here.

On a side note, I don't think I actually hosted last night as when it got to the options and stuff, you were in control of it - which I think was a bug because you left the room making it mine, then when I invited you back it gave you control...

Tis weird though as I have somewhere between 2 and 8 Meg broadband all hard wired through ethernet. :erm:

Yes, so do I. The trouble is that the bandwidth you get from an ADSL varies, and even then is only one aspect. The latency in the network is also important. If you're running a router it's also a good idea to reboot your router every so often, as over long up times the connection quality will degrade.

You hosted the second game of the night, I don't know about the fourth as you say I had control, but I assumed you put me as home for some reason, if you didn't then perhaps the room put me as a host. :erm:

i am taking zoolanders place come on
Just to confirm that Duggano is indeed taking Zoolanders place.

And on that note:

Ajax 4-2 Atletico Madrid

Ibanez (og)
Luque
Huntelaar 2,

Forlan
Simao

Atletico Madrid 2-3 Ajax

Maxi Rodriguez
Forlan

Mitea 2,
Huntelaar

Not too bad lag wise, although the matches I played with Original? earlier on were abysmal. The majority of the time it was on a red line.

Why have you played Duggano? Where can I find these new fixtures?

And with regards to the lag, I think everyone should try their best to keep it lag-free (to an extent) by signing off internet browsers and unplugging the wires on the modem if needed and obviously (try) not to play when someone is using your internet at the same time.

2nd round of games:

Tottenham (Cobinho PES ID: Cobinho) v Newcastle (Sully PES ID: marksullivan)
Bayern (Original? PES ID: DivinoCodino87) v Sevilla (Keyser Söze PES ID: Keyser_Soze.)
Villareal (Miggy PES ID: Latinomig4) v PSV (Dave! PES ID: MrPuss)
Ajax (Phatmann2003 PES ID: ChristianBale) v Atletico Madrid (Zoolander PES ID: Messiah83)
Lyon (kevthedrummer PES ID: kevthedrummer) v Portsmouth (Badgerman PES ID: pomp123)

Agreed I've always done that in any case, you're playing me next. I'm on now if you wish to play our game, if possible we'd like to speed up the fixtures.

Give me a bell on MSN.

I always wait until my internet is totally free before even attempting going online. But resetting the router isn't a bad idea. Maybe I'll do that next time I'm about to play...

Good point. I'll keep an updated set of current fixtures in the first post.

Original? restarted his router earlier and it certainly made a big difference, although it was still a little laggy.

Do it about thirty minutes before if you can.

Yeah, my housemate was connected during that one and therefore I didn't think the lag was too bad. Obviously that's only because it was a mess about game.

Look forward to it. I'm not gonna be about in the next few hours, but I should be around to play tonight hopefully - but yeah, I'll give you a shout on MSN.

PESBet is pleased to announce it has begun calculations on a market for the elite competition, PESGaming PS3 Online League 2008.

Although these prices are not confirmed, it is thought that PESBet, brought to you and sponsored by Nifty1Pound50™ ("Great prices - greater Grzegorz's") and mufcsean ("We LOL with the best of 'em!), will be accepting bets from tomorrow on the event - which is already heating up.

PESBet's official spokesperson has dispelled the myth that no market will be available, and was happy to explain.

"With withdrawals, uncertain competition and it being such an early stage it was difficult to form a certain market. We're a business - we have to take in all the factors. This isn't a decision that can be rushed.

"This is the opening running of the event - it's an unknown quantity, if you were. Portsmouth are likely to feature near the top of the market, but I can't promise anything. They looked very impressive against Lyon."

Early Forecast

Portsmouth - 7/4
Sevilla - 4/1
Villarreal - 11/2
Tottenham - 11/2
Bayern Munich - 8/1
Ajax - 10/1
Newcastle - 12/1
Atletico Madrid - 12/1
PSV - 20/1
Lyon - 66/1

Great work once again Nifty. You the man!

I hope there won't be any throwing of matches so certain people win the league. :shifty:
