Player does not change in multiplayer

Used to play PES 3 with 2 persons against compter (2 controlls on same computer) without any problems. But now with PES 4 I have some problems. If Player 1 passes to a computer-controlled player it will automatically become Player 1 again. So that leaves me passing to my self, and Player 2 won't be activated unless he manually switches to a nearby player and then Player 1 can pass. In PES 3 Player 1 would always pass to Player 2 and vice versa. Have played the PS 2 version of PES 4 and there everything is like in the PES 3 PC version. Bug? Anyone experienced same problem?

What settings do you use for player switching? This is found in Player Settings.
Try playing both of you on Manual (L1 all the way but one) and try both on semi-auto (the default setting) and see which works better.

My guess is that using Manual will be better for a multiplayer game.

We have tried both manual and "full-auto"... The problem seems to be unique for PC since PES 4 on PS2 works like it used to before.

I haven't played multiplayer (other than online) on the PC but it sounds exactly the same as the Xbox version. Personally, I have to go against the general mood and say that I prefer the new method. It means that you can fully concentrate on getting a player into position for your teammate instead of worrying about having to take control of another player before you're ready.

I experienced that same probleme.
It is a BIG thumbs down since we like to play the game 2 player vs 2 player.
We all brought PES 4 but since then we went back to PES 3.

I've asked on many forum and nobody gets any hint about this. I don't think there is alot of people that use the multiplayer mode to be in the same team.
Coz...It's the 1st forum where this bug is reported.

Badly, Konami is a great video game company, but...asian company aren't towards post-release support company.

Hmm.. me and my Pals thought it was a fault to start with.. but now we enjoy it a lot. It makes more sense and clears the way for wondefull soccer. So in my opinion it is a big step forward!! Now the player that has the ball makes the pass and it is the player without the ball that makes the run.. makes overlab, deep cuts, passing and every aspect of the game more realitic and clears away with the problem of never knowing witch player will be in charge of the next npc that will recieve the ball. If used correctly it is much easier to play great soccer and setup good tactics.

So not a fault, bug or error..but a big step up! and yes we sometimes play 2 vs 2 as well and even 4 vs ai and it works there as well!!

Best regards

I think a lot of people use the MP mode to play together..and even 2 vs 2 .. i know we do.. and a lot of my Pals do as well. I just think that when u play together you don't pay as much attention to faults ..because your just having fun.. But when u sit in the middle of a Master Leauge and feel robbed late night on your own.. you will hit the forum at once. All I want from PES5 is the option to make a dedicated server for hosting player leauges and cups :)... with trade if possible..hehe

Best regards

I agree, it was weird in the beginning, but after all this is a much better method, it makes more sense I always play 2 vs CPU, 3 against CPU is sometimes a bit hectic in defence situations.
