Is there an option to trigger player runs on PES 13?

I can see that under System > Controls, the last option is to to with auto or manual runs, but which button do I press for the my AI controlled teammate runs?

Generally the gameplay flows well, but as soon as you get in the opposition half, the inability of teammates to recognise that they should attempt a run is just gamebreaking. This is less of an issue for wingers (who do eventually make runs), but central forward or midfielders will never make forward runs.

Is there a way to trigger runs via a button?

As far as I know there is no "Press this and they run" button like FIFA's LB/L1.

But you do have the dynamic 1+2 feature and the pass and move (Press RT/R2 before the player traps the ball) feature

You mean the one two, where you pass and the then run?
That's a completely different thing. I was talking about a run that a player makes, say from midfield into space towards the goal.

Don't you find that in PES your teammates just stand there and don't make any runs forward?

If you have player run assist on assisted then you just need to press right stick in the direction of the player you want to move + press R3. On assisted they while just run straight.

On manual, you do the same, but after pressing R3 you can move that player anywhere you want with the right stick.

You teammates runs much better in the actual game than in the Demo, I've reduced my "right stick" usage by at least 50% since moving from the demo to version 1.0.

That's even more encouraging!
Player runs (and gneral AI intelligence) in Fifa 13 is the only feature that makes Fifa worth plying for me. If Pes got close to that it would be fantastic!

No, I'm serious. With the exception of Argentina default lineup, all the teams I've used (with default settings or close) have pretty good offensive movement by the AI.

I need to use the right stick on really quick counters, especially if using Possession strategy, but during regular offensive play I think my players move around quite nicely. They aren't always running exactly where I want them to, but the Ai can't read my mind so I never really expected that in the first place.

I know I have been a bit evangelic in my appraisal of the game, but I was just so taken by the immediate feel of this game. It's much more complicated than regular PES in many ways, and I have not yet mastered dribbling and 1 on 1 defending for example, but it's working great so far regardless. I am able to make some fantastic attacking play, and I get thoroughly fooled by the AI on occasion, and I look forward to properly mastering dribbling so I can get another dimension to my game.

I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's the closest I've ever seen a perfect football game so far.
