Player Transfers Help! Can't get it to work!

I need help! I have unlocked the player transfer option and have managed to do some successful transfers, but somehow I can't seem to get some other players to transfer between teams! Is it just me or the game?!

For example, I have tried to move Steve Finnan from Fulham to Liverpool but after selecting the blank "unregistered" slot and selecting Fulham on the other list, Finnan's name is "greyed-out" and it won't let me select him! I don't understand!

It will let me 'swap' him for another player on Liverpool's team but I don't want to do that! I simply want him to come into an "unregistered" slot on Liverpool's team!

PLEASE HELP!

anyone got any bright ideas!? its really frustrating me now!

Also, it seems to allow me to transfer only some of the players in the other team... only those not in the starting line-up or the first 5 subs!

help would be much appreciated

Well, if we gave you another day or so you'd probably figure it out. You're on the right lines.

The minimum squad size in PES3 is 16. To protect this law, the first 16 players in a squad list are untouchable.

Don't fret, however. You can change the order around, allowing you to transfer freely.

Using Finnan as an example:

1. Go to "Free Transfers" and select Finnan within Fulham's squad.

2. Go to Fulham again, and 'swap' him with another Fulham player further down the squad (outside of the first 16).

3. Now, choose Finnan again (he should be outside of the first 16) and then go to an Unregistered slot at Liverpool.

4. Just as a side-note, it's best to try and replace Finnan with a similarly-positioned player, though it's not essential - you can always unlock the Edit Team Strategy feature and play about with the formations/starting line-ups.

Surely there's a Transfers sticky somewhere? Zyg? Hitman? Anyone know?
