I've been playing PES and ISS for years, so I'd like to think I'm a pretty skilled player. I play a patient tactical game and switch formations quite a bit etc. BUT when I play against a really direct opponent, it doesn't really seem to matter ... I play against my cousin every week and despite the fact that he has failed to master one single shred of the tactical part of the game and always plays exactly the same way, I find him virtually impossible to beat. It's exactly the same as playing SFII back in the day. You could know all the moves and cane anyone who tried to play properly, but you could get bashed up by a novice who would just randomly hit buttons.
I'd like to think that I'm particularly good defensively. Even on six stars I rarely concede and normally score at least twice. I just can't beat my damn cousin. Technically speaking, he's rubbish, but for some unknown reason, he seems to be able to tear me apart like no-one else has ever managed. Not to mention that he's damn cocky ...
Anyone else had this problem?
