Playing Online - does it annoy you?

It really pisses me off that whenever you play online - same old opponent teams - Brazil, France, Barcelona. Cant people actually play this game without having to use the best teams. Being a proud Newcastle fan, the lads have nearly held Europe’s finest off, I will get there in the end. Anyone want a game - Sick_Jack is my ID.

I agree. Though i play it on the PS2.

This really annoys me! I hate it when everyone chooses teams like Barcelona.

Granted I choose some of the best teams sometimes but I vary it about and also choose my teams, which are Blackburn Rovers and Wales on a regular basis. The teams I regularly use online are:

* Manchester United (Man Red)
* Manchester City (Man Blue)
* Arsenal (North London)
* Chelsea (London FC)
* Valencia
* Real Madrid
* Barcelona

Plus there may be a few others. My point is, even though I use good teams, I rarely use the same team for more than two games so I vary it and shake it up a bit. I hate the people who have Barca used in all of their last 5 games etc. And all they do is get the ball to Henry, Messi, Eto'o etc in their own half then run all the way to score. It's boring! Reminds me of Arsenal pre-Wenger. Not in the sense of the flair players but in the sense of being so BORING!!!!

Another thing that annoys me is the way goals are getting repetative now. People either run to the by-line just inside the box and then blind pass it across to score or they just cut in across the end of the box and run along the edge of the box a bit before taking a shot. Granted it's a way to score but surely it gets boring just scoring the same way with the same teams constantly!?!?

Yep. That's why i don't go on much. When i do i tend to be stalking the friendlies. People seem to play with more variety there due to the lack of effect on ranking.

Yeah you're right, at first I played a lot online but now I'm back on track with the master league and I like it.

well i played 2 games online at a friends and guess what, all were against barcelona. out of principle i wont use the best teams, but i think to get any decent rank you need the super teams. is annoying as my finger feathers the red button which is appropriately colured as it reflect my rage. i think the ronaldinho red card count is 3 now but he was injured both times

well when i used to play online (PES5 on the PC) i always have (and if i go back to playing online, always will) play as Chelsea. I support them so why would i choose to play as Barca etc.. diff players, diff tactics.. not the same victory imho

It used to piss me off playing online against Brazil, Barca and AC Milan day in day out which is why i stopped and decided to test myself against the computer itself.. Kicking ass on PES2008 on PS2 Completed the World tour so im pretty much bored now lol

Yeah it is very annoying

I made a room a few days ago stating no barca / no brazil because i was sick of every game being against these teams, esp barca

I played one guy who moaned at me for stating that i didnt want ppl going barca, if he didnt like it he didnt need to join the room FFS. Also had someone who went Inter and i destroyed him with Arsenal, then he went onto say he would destroy me if he went barca. Was like no way with the evidence of his poor showing with inter, barca aint that much better lol.

These guys annoy me. Chelsea is a good foil for playing against Barca. I do get a lot of satisfaction out of beating guys who are Barca

I have only been Liverpool online. Which is annoying as they are underrated on the game, a week defense, and Reina only has 78 Keeper Skill (one of the lowest on game/lowest out of English clubs) so cocks everything up lol.

Thanks for replying Stu, but when you play your mate with your Master League Team are your player stats the same as they were on their last master league game or are they the same stats as when you actually bought them in to your Master League Team?

In the old games you have to save your 'my best eleven' (its an option in the master league menu itself)

i assume its the same in this one, cant see why it would change

Hi new member here, felt I had to join just to vent my anger on this page.

Online playing drives me mad!!! Everyone uses Barca and is is so rubbish, admittedly I am poor at the game but I am conceding at least 5 goals a game. I have played 14 and am yet to win except when I win by default due to connection fault.

Biggest gripe is cheating little scum that hover on the team selection over an average team, so I choose a suitably average opponent to make it a fair game. As soon as I select they swich and become Barca.

In my opinion Konami should read forums like this and release a patch downscaling the attributes of the Barca attacking players. This would discourage these people from using them and also make them try real teamwork to score goals rather than the usual give it to Eto and run!
I have played around 120 games and have only won around 30 and I consider myself a good player.
I thought PES6 suffered from this problem with certain players and really thought Konami would have downscaled players for this version but they increased the attributes and also made more players invincible!

a better idea would be to have all ranked games played with random teams, the computer automatically gives you a team and you have to play that way, much more entertaining and a better way to prove your skill - to grind out a nil nil as saudi or to crush a team with real madrid!!

if you play from the same console, the stats are as they were in the master league, so one of my best players is shimizu. if you play online, all improvements are gone

those guys annoy the crap out of me, i generally start by pressing the random button just to see who i get, i wait to see where they go, and when they (usually) go for barca, i sometimes stay as the random team and think, 'i'll f****ing show you', but mostly lose in that situation. I did raw with some guy from division 1 when he was barcelona and i was dinamo zagreb and it gave me so much satisfaction.

I also hate the guys who use the Hahahahahahaha message after scoring, i swear one day soon i will pu my foot through my own monitor when that happens
