Playing PES2010 (PS2) on PS3 Console

On the PS2 version on the game it regularly hangs. I just get a blank screen...nothing happens.

BTW I am playing this on an old version of the PS3 with the PS2 emulator

1. It happens intermittently when I start a new game
2. More worryingly I have a master league game which will not go past the 1st domestic cup game. I have re-loaded my game 3-4 times now and it seems to hang when you would expect the introduction to the cup after the league match.

I have searched the forum and can not find anyone else with the same problem.

Any help appreciated. Anyone else play PES2010 (PS2) on thier PS3 console?

The disk is spotless but I have cleaned it anyway but I still get the same problem.

Go to the WENB forums and read through the PS2 thread. There's a lot of good info in there on how to make it run smooth

Cheers muzza. Managed to find some people with the same problem on WENB. I know what it means now

Here are my findings for anyone else with the same problem.

Playing PES2010 (PS2) on the UK 60GB PS3 fails during BAL and Master League Modes.

BAL - When you accept an offer from a new Club
Master League - When you reach the 1st round of the Champions League \ Domestic Cup.

I can find no solution to this issue so DO NOT BUY PES2010 (PS2 Version) FOR THE PS3.

If someone can prove me wrong I will be most pleased.

Mmmmm well that sucks. I just moved and recently through my old PS2 out. Biggest mistake of my life. After seeing how good it looks on PS2 i have been asking around if anyone has 1 but they've all sold them or "I wanna keep it cos its a bit of history". So frustrating.
