playing pes5 in USA???

Just wanted to know the following.

A friend of mine has moved to the USA a few years ago.

He wanted to buy pes5 (PC version) so we can play online together. He ordered the game
from Sendit, but they say the game will not run on a US pc.

Does anyone have a friend playing it succesfully from the US.
I cant imagine US pc's being very different fm European ones.

PS2 version is a different matter of course.

Any comments appreciated.

what difference will the game make if its played on a US pc..

all PC's are the same you know.. just make sure he didnt get the PS2 version for PC ahha.

Seems that sendit told my friend he cant play the game since its on dvd.

US dvd's have different regions then european ones.

Although i dont think it matters cause with my dvd rom i can set the region when choosing properties.

I'll advise my friend to go ahead with it then.

Do you by chance play online as well? I'm wondering if there are any connection problems my friend should consider.

I recently ordered PES from Europe and I'm in the USA. I'm hoping I'll be able to play agaisnt some friends in mine in England. I'll post here when I get the game and give it a try. Should be about a week.

I'm starting to get worried now, I bought the game on DVD and from what I'm reading DVD-ROMS from the UK won't work on US players. I guess we'll see. Anyone know anything about that or anyway around it?

download a Region free program on google or whatever. works a treat.. but i honestly have never come across this problem in my life. my cousins dvd's that he purchased from USA always worked without any tweaking

That region free program sounds like a good idea.

Anyway, any further info is welcome.

I really dont see why it should be a problem, but my friend wants to be
sure before he buys the game.

I'm quite sure that region free disks only work on dvd movie disks and not on games. To play PS2 games from other regions your PS2 must be chipped or modded (using slide card, flip top lid or swap magic with knife trick). Use the Search button or check in the Editing Questions section for more details on these methods.

then you are good to go. you don't need any software or anything for your drives. just buy the game, put it in and play. that's me and other people did

yes you can play online. nothing to worry about. you don't need any extra file or anything.
Btw there are already like 40 USA players that I know playing it.

I just ordered PES5 PC version too - looking forward to playing online with you guys! By the way is it possible/easy to play with keyboard or do you need a controller?

you can play it either with keyboard or a gamepad. for me it's impossible to play with the keyboard

try the logitech's gamepad. they are like $19.99 i belive.

i use the logitech dual action pad.

Its great for pes5 since you can use either joystick or joypad.

My friend is going ahead with the order, so there should be another usa guy online soon. He will be playing from Phoenix Arizona for now but will move to Salt lake city in a few months.

Its good to hear there's a USA community as well.

If possible i'd like to play you as well.

Yep it works great with my US pc. I am trying to play online, but I bought mine on ebay... You know the one thats "brand new, In original box". Well when it finally showed up from Mylasia (not the UK, like the seller said). It just came in a sleeth and a cut out of the box. So I can play, but not online. When I tried to reqister the game and put in my password. It said my account was already active, yet when I tried to sign on. I had an incorrect password. H E L P!
