Playing style

Since I bought PES6 I've not been online, mainly because of the amount of nobheads and racists on there, I'd much rather play versus the cpu and do a master league. But when I used to play online with PES5 it was nice to see everyone had their own style of playing the game. I noticed there are many who were damn good at scoring and knew how to win, but their was nothing exciting about their play. All they did was pass and shoot, no intelligent moves, air passes or pile drivers. Like I say that's their style and it obviously works very well, hats off to them, but I couldn't for my life play like that, I find it boring and very unsatisfying. I feel playing like that is not a testament to the so-called beautiful game. I like to win but I'm one of those players who takes pride in playing well rather than simply winning. I do find people similar to myself who are obsessed with the art of play are pretty much average online, quite useless really, which is a bit annoying but it's how we choose to play. Where some players would pass it up to the strikers, out of pure nature we will have an urge to crack it from 35 yards. It is our 'achilles heel' and we can be made to pay for it, but I would never want to change that for what I call a watered-down pass and shoot PES; it definately gets results but there is simply no science to it. What say you fellow PESmen? Are you a pass-and-shoot pro, a wizard of beautiful play, or something else?

Back when I played WE9, I was the same as you. The only reason I'd go online was the delusion that I might find some honorable opponent who doesn't play like a robot. I think about 5% of the players over in this hemisphere know fuck all about football. I'm proud to be part of that group that plays pure football, scores realistic goals, and likes to put on a show for the people who can't play the game like it was made to be played... and then not accept their friend request because they beat me.

I was not one of those who went as Brazil every time (not that there's anything wrong with this), pass/pass/shoot.. pass/pass/shoot.. pass/pass/shoot...ever so boring. They usually end up winning and fair play to them, but that isn't my idea of how to play Pro Evolution/football.

As someone who practically worships liverpool and argentina, i am more of a tactical player.. I enjoy passing the ball around the field and like to open my opponents up.. once I find that i have everyone in their place, i strike.. but not before the opponent realises his/her players are all confused.. NOT! well I am trying to learn that..

Interesting, so you 'bide your time'...Yep, a proper Liverpool tactic....Sounds the goods. I just like to try out different moves during attacks; if the opportunity is presented I'll try and make the most of it with a combo or something, visualise the move before it happens and execute it. That's what I think PES is all about. But I play as Everton most the time and we're okay on PES6 but not exactly skillfully gifted, so moves don't always come off that well.

I agree, me and hitman atm are trying to score wonder goals, its much more satisfying than just winning (unless its a tournament).
