I'm sure I read somewhere that you could use any old SATA Hard Drive and install it into a PS3. So 500 Gb should be okay.

Someone posted some instructions here on how to do it. Technically, most SATA Hard Drives can be fitted into a PS3. The only special thing thats required is that you must format the new Hard Drive in a certain way if you want your PS3 to detect the new drive.

Again, instructions were posted here in this thread. Just do a search inside this thread and you should be able to find more details about it.

Let me explain this a bit more clearly.

You can't buy a Hard Drive specifically designed to be used with a PS3.

However, there are lots of generic Hard Drives that you can buy that are compatible with a PS3. Note the word 'compatible' as this means that it can be made to work with a PS3.

As far as I know though, there is no limit as to how big the Hard Drive can be inside a PS3 as nobody has reported anything yet with the upgrading of the Hard Drive.

You can try doing it yourself but I have to warn you that it may be a case of trial and error.

Anyone tried Pixeljunk Eden? I thought it was going to be lame but it's very addictive. Isn't half frustrating when you fall from top to bottom mind. If it's a £3.49 title I may well buy it.

The PS3 has been out for over a year now.

Has anyone here found a modding solution for it yet? As in being able to play PS3 backups?

Nope. I also wouldn't risk it at the moment either, not until the console gets a lot cheaper.

Also blank Blu-ray disks are at a ridiculous price and so to are recorders. It's not worth the hassle at the moment.
