Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection announced for early 2009

Sega has announced the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection, which is heading to the PS3 in early 2009. The collection will contain over 40 classic Sega titles from the Mega Drive and Master System. Highlights include many Sonic titles, Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Shining Force and many others. We've placed the full list of games after the break for your perusal.

While many of you will have already played these games (many times), be it on the Gamecube, PSP, PS2 or on the original consoles, the Ultimate Collection will apparently output all titles at 720p. We're not sure exactly how these old games will look in high definition, but this will be the largest collection of Sega titles ever released together. For those of you that missed many of these titles throughout the years, this is the perfect opportunity to try some Sega classics for the first time.

The full list of games included in the Sega Mega Collection is as follows:

* Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
* Alien Storm
* Altered Beast
* Beyond Oasis
* Bonanza Bros.
* Columns
* Comix Zone
* Decap Attack starring Chuck D. Head
* Dr. Robotnik's MBM
* Dynamite Headdy
* Ecco the Dolphin
* Ecco II: The Tides of Time
* E-SWAT
* Fatal Labyrinth
* Flicky
* Gain Ground
* Golden Axe I
* Golden Axe II
* Golden Axe III
* Kid Chameleon
* Phantasy Star II
* Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom
* Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium
* Ristar
* Shining in the Darkness
* Shining Force
* Shining Force 2
* Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
* Sonic 3D Blast
* Sonic and Knuckles
* Sonic Spinball
* Sonic The Hedgehog
* Sonic The Hedgehog 2
* Sonic The Hedgehog 3
* Streets of Rage
* Streets of Rage 2
* Streets of Rage 3
* Super Thunder Blade
* Vectorman
* Vectorman 2

Must buy for me although I'm sure the novelty will wear off quickly.
Still though, Streets of Rage II :w00t

Well I bought Motorstorm 2 today and I think its great. Its not for everyone but theres some serious fun to be had.

A very good variety of tracks and vehicles and one feature I like is a photo mode where you can snap a screenshot at whatever angle you like. Plus, you can play your own music and my d&b music fits perfectly with the game - its as simple as popping up the xmb and selecting a song or playlist.

Online is great too, fast paced and no lag at all. Theres also 4-player split screen which i'll be testing out later - that promises to be a barrel of laughs.

I still wish games would go down in price though, I need as much spare cash as possible for more important things.

Yes its much better than the original, many more modes and tracks, and the online is much better. The matchmaking system is a bit like COD4.

Graphics are amazing, especially at high speeds. Come to a stop and you'll notice some blurry textures but thats a given really - besides, most of the time you'll be going to fast to pay any attention to that sort of stuff.

Wait for the price to come down a bit if I were you.

Yeah, a rent would be good. You see, as good as the game is, it doesn't feel like its worth £40, which led to my comment about the prices of games. Its actually £34.99 on Play, but I saw it in the shops and just decided to buy it there. Its still great fun though, im sure i'll get some good play out of it.

Thinking of buying Theme Park off the PS store, i used to spend hours playing that game. Might have to start a collection of all the old school PS games, i've only got crash bandicoot so far. Fancy getting Cool Boarders and Driver aswell.

Should I spend my money on a new silver DualShock 3 or get PES 2009?

The R2 button on my current DS3 is fucked, and I haven't played PES since PES 6 on the PS2.

For sprinting in FIFA and changing items in Battlefield : Bad Company.

Is there any difference from the full game? I tried the demo and I didn't like it at all. Then again, I didn't like the FIFA demo but I really enjoy playing the full game.
