Having had both consoles, the only thing I would say the XBOX has in its favour is 1080p games, I can't understand why so few games are 1080p on the PS3.

And a bigger catalogue of titles, faster install, better controller (especially for FPS, the sticks are far superior for control) and it's squarer shape makes for a better draught excluder.

I'm not a 360 fan boy by the way Smink. I only got the 360 after the BR drive on my release day 60Gb PS3 died. Both consoles have their advantages, I'm just happy to be in the position where I can have both... Hopefully that didn't sound too 777'ish? :erm:

Haha, no it didn't sound too 777'ish . You came across as being proud of your achievments. You didn't come across as someone who was looking down on those cretins who only have on console (like me for example ).

I prefer the ps3 controller by far. Not a huge FPS fan, so the trigger problem is not an issue. What the hell do you mean by "draft excluder"??

I also prefer the exclusives on the ps3. I couldn't care less for Halo, Gears of War etc (I have played them both btw).

Horses for courses mate. I'm not Halo fan & cannot abide Gears, but adore Forza, Fable etc. I definitely think that having the choice is the way to go, it allows you to get the full spectrum of decent titles. Wouldn't go as far as getting a Wii as well though...

I have both as well and even though I will probably buy more games for the PS3 than the 360, I don't really have a preference.

I was planning on getting LA NOIRE for 360, but am I right to think that PS3 is getting exclusive content?

As for LA Noire, there is additional, from what I can remember it is an additional case. I don't know if any specific details have been released yet. Might be Google time...

Did you orignally type "draft" or "draught"? It was probably just me making a daft typo. You're right though. If you're like 777 and like to go for expensive buys, and want a draught excluder, can't go wrong with a 360

Joel - Yeah, ps3 does have exclusive content. I dunno whether it will be released as DLC on xbox at a later date though, like the shop-specific pre order content.

The PS interface is good, it was a definite step forward for the console generation. Saying that, the 360 revised setup isn't half bad either. like I said though, it's the type of games that dictate which console I use, rather than the console itself.

As for LA Noire, my brief looksee seems to indicate it's a PS3 exclusive. So far I can see nothing about it being a timed one.

The XMB on the PS3 is by far the most seamless and easy to navigate console interface imo.

Yeah, but tbh XMB in-game access wasn't built into the console, it came at a later date, so they probably fixed it only for access during PS3 gameplay.

I hope they keep it for the PS4.

Can't say that causes me a problem. I use my PS as the primary DVD player and cannot recall a time I've needed to back out to the XMB while watching a film...

I don't tend to navigate away from whatever I'm doing - playing a game or watching a film - so needing to back out of XMB doesn't bother me too much. However, I don't like that you can't listen to music stored on the HD and play at the same time. I'm pretty sure I used to be able to do that on the 360. It would save the need to turn on both a hi-fi and PS3.

It would be good if they made it possible to view photos whilst in game. Would be useful when you're looking for hidden items and you want to keep checking a map, saves you having to leave the PC/laptop on, thus reducing your carbon footprint ever so slightly, and making the Earth a much more wonderful place to live

I think you misunderstood my intentions. I was merely correcting my statement to cover my initial misunderstanding of your initial post
