Unless it's less than 3 years old, in which case call the MS helpline for details (you'll need the serial no off the console). You should be able to get a free repair.

There are too few of us on this site to expect the number of ps3/xbox repairs that we all read about it. The probability of failure has to be 6 out of 10 or something like that.

Just a heads up, Gamestation are selling £10 PSN vouchers for £3.50, not sure if it's one per person, only got one.

Works out great for me as atm 3 month PS+ renewals are 25% off, so under £10, so I just got 3 months for £3.50!

Is there a way to change the mobile layout for the keypad when trying to send a message or search PSN? Strangely the USA psn has the keyboard spread out like normal. Such a ball ache to send a message.

OK, it appears that my PS3 controller is dead. I've tried charging it with different USB cables, through different sources (via laptop and wall charger) and still nothing. Tried resetting it too and that hasn't fixed it either.

So it just looks like the battery is messed up. Anyone know of any solutions? Has anyone every replaced the internal battery? Or should I just go a buy a new one? Thanks.

Best to just replace the controller mate. Opening and changing the battery is easy however putting the controller back together is fiddly and a general pain in the arse to get all the trigger buttons working.

It's about 35/40 quid for a new one, so if this is more cost effective and you're capable of doing it, you could give it a go. Not something that I'd ever try to do though.

I could do with a new controller to be honest, the sticks are a bit loose. I bought one a while back from one of Amazon's 3rd party sellers. It was terrible! Looked badly put together, the buttons felt hard and the analogue sticks were stiff.

here's another controller related conundrum. The rubber grip on the analog is loose and I've consequently just pulled it off. The plastic piece isn't too hard but is slippery and sharp on the edges. Has anyone in a similar predicament have come up with a cost effective solution??

I'd be interested if someones got an answer to that.
My nephew's bit a tiny bit of rubber off right in the centre of the analogue's and it's just horrible to use now. I know you can buy new analogue stick's for the 360 but they'll be a nightmare to fit.

Available from 28 September 2012, the new PS3 system comes with a whopping 500GB of storage and will be closely followed by a wallet-friendly 12GB version. So whether you're after instant access to memorable, fun-packed evenings with the family, or want to load up your system with tons of fantastic entertainment, we've got the right PS3 for you.

The new console offers you the flexibility to tailor your PS3 experience to suit your needs: start off with the 12GB model and then ramp up the capacity by connecting a dedicated 250GB Hard Disk Drive. This is just one of the great peripherals that will be released at the same time alongside a range of other essential accessories such as a vertical stand that offers more flexibility in how the new PS3 can be displayed.
