One of my Xbox's only had 20GB, and as Battlefield 3 is taking up about half that, I bought a second hand 120GB HDD from CeX

I'm actually amazed at how expensive the PS3 has remained over the years.

If they made the PS3 console any cheaper, Sony would probably start making us pay for online play. I wouldn't like that.

Why fail to play MP4 on PS3?
PS3 can play MP4 video files with extension of .mp4 with video codec of MPEG-4 AVC H.264 /Xvid/DivX and audio codec of AAC. There are still some other MP4 video files are unsupported like MPEG-4 ASP.

As MPEG-4 AVC H.264 codec, support is limited to the following specifications:

AVC Profile: Baseline, Main or High Profiles
Maximum bitrate: None specified. However, if bitrate is above 20Mbps, stuttering will occur when playback
AVC Level: 4.2
No B-Pyramid and P4x4 support
4GB limit for streaming H.264 files

Thanks for that, Jonno. I did wonder why some mp4 files would work, but others didn't. I used to be quite lucky with getting ones that work, until it got to the point where I was getting more ban 'uns than good 'uns. I just stick to .AVI files now.

why cant you just let the guys at the workshop fix my ps3? but no... you have to have this strange rule that noone may touch it to fix it... in stead i have to get another one and i loose all of my saves. thanks sony :realmad:

The next PS3 I'm actually a fan of wish it came bundles with a different game as I already have Uncharted - I may hold off until the holidays as thats when some pretty good deals arise....

I think I preferred the old one. It was simpler.

I'm also not keen on the new Singstar think that has blighted my XMB!

Trial I think.

The trophies being moved to the network are is also a pain. If you want to check them in-game, it has to sync first (which I don't think it had to do before) and takes longer to load.

I don't know if you've noticed (I've only just noticed) - you can switch the trophies to "offline mode" by pressing triangle on the trophy icon. That way, it doesn't automatically sync to the server when you try to open it up, saving some time.
