That YouTube plug in is absolute crap. You can't access youtube any other way now because it will prompt you to download the app if you try. But even more annoying, is there is no keyboard search, you have to use your controller to scroll the alphabet. Finally, the search results are different from being online. I can't find anything on a search.

My PS3 has a recurring problem where it won't recognize a disc, either game or DVD. When I insert a disc I hear two short grind sounds like it is trying to read but then it stops.
All other features of my PS3 are fine. If I keep re-inserting the game disc it eventually reads but that can be after 10 or more retries. Not sure if coincidence that a few medium taps on the side has helped it read.
Anyone else experience this problem or know the solution? So many options provided online it can be a nuisance to read all the stuff written on it. Seems like it could be a laser problem and replacing may only be $50-55. Any help appreciated

I have tried that as well as sideways, one hand on my head, standing on one leg and just can't get anything consistently to work.
I made the comment recently that it sure seems like PS3s break much too often.

What type of PS3 is it?
I've had a PS1,2 and 360 die on me. I'm waiting for the inevitable to happened with the PS3. Maybe not yet though when I hardly play on it, it'll probably die when GTA is released.

its the 160gb model, just got it in 2010 around November, but warranty is out of date. I will likely replace a part before buying a new one. trying to avoid that if a simple cleaning will do.
I had two PS1 sort of die, I used to have to play with it on top of an ice tray to stop it from overheating. PS2 never gave me a problem.
I'm thinking of selling the free 1 month PS+ promotional code that I got from buying God of War Saga. It has to be a US citizen though. Thinking of selling it for US$5, can pay it to me via Paypal. Any takers?
