Potential buyer - a few questions

So I haven't played a football game in about 7 years. Back then I really enjoyed the ML since I'm strictly an offline single player. I'm trying to decide between Fifa and Pes.
Does the ML still include relegation and international competitions? Can you still fill your own league?
I hear there are 40 generic teams that can be used to make real clubs. So it's possible to make the complete Bundesliga? And complete the EPL and La Liga by editing the fake teams?
In ML, are the transfers and other results realistic? I remember transfers to the equivalent of Aguero to Wigan...
Does the ML still include player growth?
How does the ML differ from BAL aside from only controlling a single player in the latter?
If I remember correctly I can only install one OF at a time, correct?

I'm really more of a casual player, which of the two games would be more suited for me? The career/ML mode is very important to me and I like all the licenses in Fifa, but all that means nothing without good gameplay.

Thanks for any help.

Alright, on to the answers:
Does the ML still include relegation and international competitions? Can you still fill your own league?

Yes, you can be relegated to a 20-team league. Relegation only happens on the league you are playing. All the other national leagues have only one division. International competitions this year include the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League, the FIFA Club world cup - called KONAMI league, you end up always playing one of the three teams from South America Available in ML: Internacional, Boca Juniors or River Plate and the new addition to this year's roster is the UEFA Supercup, where the UCL and Europa League champions play an one match showdown which decides the best team in Europe (see what I did there? :D).

I hear there are 40 generic teams that can be used to make real clubs. So it's possible to make the complete Bundesliga? And complete the EPL and La Liga by editing the fake teams?

Theoretically, yes, but it would be a ton of work since most of the players for those teams don't exist in the game so you would have to create everyone from scrath, from appearance to skills, aside from creating the teams. If you want customization you are better off picking up the PC version, since it has a way larger editing community where you can get all sorts of patches from.

In ML, are the transfers and other results realistic? I remember transfers to the equivalent of Aguero to Wigan...

This one depends. I played Wolves last year and took me 8 seasons to be able to actually sign a world class player (El Kun himself, what a coincidence), but as far as the AI controlled teams, expects all sorts of crazy like Gerrard to Mutd, Messi to Real Madrid and Pirlo to Inter. Last year's most noticeable peculiarity was Barca's way of signing every world class forward in the game. They had Messi, Villa, Henry, Ibra, Torres, Rooney, Robben, Pato, Drogba and C. Ronaldo(not kidding).

Does the ML still include player growth?

Yes. This year there are two kinds of player growth: Dynamic and the standard one.

How does the ML differ from BAL aside from only controlling a single player in the latter?

Can't really tell since I haven't played this year's BAL. One thing is that in BAL you get to play the World Cup as long as the nationality you pick has an International Team. Internationals in ML do you no good, as they only tire your players.

If I remember correctly I can only install one OF at a time, correct?

Correct.

I'm really more of a casual player, which of the two games would be more suited for me?

Since you have been out of the game for so long I think you are better off trying both games for yourself. I for one can't bring myself to like FIFA, the menus are so slow they piss me off even before I get into the game. However into the pitch it seems a bit superior. Either way I stick to PES because I'm like a crackhead sucking dick for a piece.

What I can tell you is that the FIFA's manager mode, although it's got more features than the Master League is not nearly as fun.

Hope I helped. :)

Thank you! So you think game play is actually better in Fifa? I've heard that they stripped a lot of features from the career mode in Fifa. But from what I saw of the ML it seems very engaging.
It seems like every time I've made up my mind I read something that makes me reconsider for either game. BTW, I can't find the Pes demo in the marketplace (I'm USA), but it's on the website. I'd really like to play it to help me decide. Anyone got any ideas?
