I have a 2.4ghz AMD processor
80gb hard drive
40gb 2nd hard drive
1ghz Ram
ATI Radeon 9200 128DDR

Everytime the ball goes near either goals the game seems to slow down and stutter, the game doesn't seem to run smoothly even though I have downloaded the newest drives from ATI.com/UK. I have installed Direct X 9c and have set my resolution to 1064x800. Despite every setting the game seems slow does anyone else have an ATI 9200. I might just go out and buy the Geforce 4 Ti or the ATI 9600 128DDR. Does anyone have this problem, if not what graphics card do you have.

If you want to keep up with all the latest games, go with a $300+ card. The Nvidia GeForce 6800ultra 256 and the ATi x800 are pretty much the best right now. The 6800gt is almost as good as the ultra, and goes for around $360.

Meh I can run PES4 fluently with my radeon 9600xt 256mb on HIGH detail and 1600x1200

couldn't do that with pes3, funny enough

I play in 1024 x 768 detail on high with my Point of View Geforce Ti 4200 Turbo (overclocked to match Ti 4600 performance). No slowdown even with things running in background (my own music, downloading etc.)

Can you guys recomend one card just for pes4? Not top expensive.

Radeon 9800 Pros can be had from Ebay for not much over £100 now, with a warranty if coming from a small dealer selling through there. Just search for Radeon 9800 Pro and all will be revealed. I would imagine you can also get them at computer fairs for the same sort of money.

I have a 2.4G Pentium 4 and have just today installed a 9800 Pro. I have the 3D display properties set to Default Optimum Quality which is 4xAA and 16xAF, textures and everything on High Quality, and VSync set to application preference.

Playing at 1024*768 on High Quality in the game, FRAPS tells me I'm getting a pretty much constant 60FPS other than when the quick zooms into pre-set animations happen, when the game is effectively dead anyway from a playing point of view, but it recovers straight away. Forgetting the frame rates, from a feel point of view it seems to be playing beautifully smoothly, even on some of the more challenging stadia (although I haven't tried the one with the pitch that fries your brain yet) and the football is taking place at a sensible pace.

So I reckon the 9800s, given that they are previous generation "top of the range" cards, are decent value for money now. I took out a GEForce 4 Ti4200, which I guess was previous generation mid-range, and there's no question the Radeon 9800 Pro is much better for this game.

But I guess it also depends what processor you have.

me with a 9600 xt  but it might be the 256mb that makes it run quickly though. I don't know, according to the stickies here I should have a minimum 9700 to run at high and high resolution but my 9600xt does just fine

Take £100 to ebay and get a 9800 Pro, your problems will disappear. :)

If you buy certain ATI 9600 series...you can also be gifted with a free Steam Download of Half-Life 2....for those moments when you really need to kill somebody after a tough PES4 game...

I have just ordered a new computer and was wondering if it would be able to play PES4.

This is the computer i have ordered:

Dell Dimension 8400

Intel Pentium 4 processor 530 with HT technology (3.00GHz,1MB L2 cache,800MHz FSB)
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
512MB Dual Channel DDR2 RAM
160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
128MB PCI-Express ATI Radeon X300SE

This thing cost me £629, so iam really hoping it will play PES4 nicely.

If someone could tell me if it will be able to play PES4 smoothly i would be very grateful, thanks :)

Graphics Card

Ken

I'm running PES4 on a P4 2.4ghz with a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb card

The graphics are shite, slow and jerky, little reaction time.

I have loaded the latest drivers and my PES3 runs smooth with no problem

Any ideas would be appreciated !

This thread is a bit old and Im not sure if these people are still around. There is always a solution to these problems. There is a certain program called 3DAnalyze that has been known to remove these sorts of problems and I would recomend programs such as 'Game Optimizer Pro'.....Im sure otehr people have some more ideas.

a ps2.. thats the bad thing about not owning a ps2 and being forced to play we/pes on the PC, not all comps can play it.

a 9800 should be more than good enough esp as PES4 has been optimised for PC better than PES3? 3d analyse should be unnecessary, I had a 9800 pro and it worked fine and I know others who use it with no problems, I'd try reinstalling drivers after using driver cleaner or whatever it's called
