ollowing the announcement in Japan of Winning Eleven 9: Ubiquitous Edition for PSP, Konami of Europe has officially confirmed that a European edition based on Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will be released this autumn.

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is already due on PS2, Xbox and PC in Q4.

The European PSP version will be "almost identical [to PES5 on consoles and PC] in terms of available international sides, with 57 national sides lining up alongside 136 club teams".

There will be several PSP-exclusive features including wireless play, with a running total of things like goals for, against, wins and so on keeping up with play.

There will be six different leagues, various cup competitions, and the facility to link-up with the PS2 version of PES5 to exchange data including teams created on PS2. Players will then be able to use these teams against other PSP users and swap teams with them too.

Earlier today we reported details of Winning Eleven 9: Ubiquitous Edition - the Japanese version of this game - and were told to expect full Match, League and Training modes as well as an Edit mode of some description.

For more details on that and talk of the way the game will control, which should be pertinent to anybody interested in PES5 PSP, be sure to check out that item.

I am interested how they solve the problem that the PSP only has 2 shoulder buttons and not really a thumbstick

yeh but are they better than PS2 graphics? if they were then I could maybe see why it'd be so expensive.but......are the discs a lot smaller? or is it even a disc you use for it?

I havent seen the discs no but the graphics are on a par with the ps2 graphics and with it being a handheld that is pretty impressive if u ask me :D

the graphics are supposed to be same level as ps2 but i reckon they luk jus a tiny bit less to be honest,
the discs it uses are UMD's(universal media discs) they hold about 1.8gb i think
the anologue stick luks well shit at first but when u use it its actually top class:D it works well but my hands do hurt a bit if i gotta use the left shoulder button and the analogue stick but maybe thats jus my small stump fingered hands:(
