Pro evo 6 or Fifa 07

I tried FIFA07 a while ago because I was getting pissed off with the perfect-tackle defender AI on PRO6. I just couldn't get into FIFA at all. There are only 3 crappy camera angles on 360 version. Also, for some reason I couldn't get the hang of shooting... it just seemed as if they either went straight down the middle or went wide. I admit I didn't give much time into sussing it out but it was frustrating. So I went back to Pro Evo and haven't looked back since

I downloaded the FIFA demo, and I must say I wasn't impressed. While the players do move very realistacally, which is nice to watch, it makes for poor gameplay in my opinion. The players still run like they are playing on 6ft of treacle.

Also, I don't like the shoting at all, it doesn't feel powerfull enough. The referees as well, blimey, they are shocking. People talk about how bad the PES refs are, but FIFA is on a par with PES5 for bad refs. Playing against my mate, he tackles me front on with A, takes the ball clean as you like, and I win a penalty. I was baffled, frankly.

Graphically, hit and miss. The players do look superb, and I would like to see it in HD, but some things were crap. The pitch, for example, looks laminated in areas, or like Mr Sheen has spunked everywhere or something. Very shiny.

It obviously has more features, but the gameplay, the real issue, is still inferior. If I were to buy either, it would be PES, despite the fact I already own the even-more-superior-to-FIFA PS2 version.

So there.

The players in Fifa look crap, face wise, when compared to Pro Evo, and they still do that thing where they become unrecognisable blobs when the camera is at a distance. They are all fat fucks cos of the shirt physics thing, and seem to all have fat faces and vulture noses. The fact that substitutes run on to the pitch muddy as fuck is a bit of a joke as well, did they shit themselves on the bench or something? lol

i dont have much time for fifa.when i rented it the graphics in game seemed pretty good, but when you zoom in on a player you see that nobody at all looks good, especially in comparison too pes.also the graphics are shocking on the opening sequence when there in the tunnels,it looks like they emit light!!!i agree, shooting is well hard, just do that loading screen with ronaldinho and youl see.refs are appauling,i slide tackled just after the ball was played coz i was losing,i little over enthusiastic, clipped him barley, fair enough free kick,i got a red card twice in the game for THAT!!!

I just hate Fifa, hands down. It's not that i'm biased for PES, i've just never liked Fifa since World Cup 98, after that the rest were just shit, specially 2002-6. The problem with Fifa is that it needs sever changes but each year its just a couple of new features, or lil things that have been in PES since ISS pro evolution. I know PES doesn't change much every year but why make drastic changes to a winning formula? ;) (I still play Fifa on 360 but only cos i find the achievments so easy)

I've played both quite a bit now, i would go into depth but to be honest i can't be bothered. I rarely play these games on single player these days. I'm always around a mates or have mates over for a few games of it. I played PES quite a bit one night and got into it but there were moments when i just thought to myself (ps2 pes with better graphics)

That shocked me cause i usually adore pes games! I did enjoy it but just not as much i'd used to, especially on the odd occasion of playing on my own.

When it came to playing fifa, it did take me a while to get used to it, with being used to pro, after a bit though i got RIGHT into it, loved the animations aswell as the look and feel of the whole game. When i played this on my own i enjoyed it quite a bit, more obviously than i did playing pro on my own.

So for me it has to be FIFA this year.
I'm really hoping PES7 will be a fantastic game. I think it has to be to get some of its fans back.

See I would say Fifa, but when i see NEW animations in Fifa, Brand new this year, that have been in PES since 3, it really does piss me off. They just "borrow" them of course. Plus everytime i play a new Fifa game, i just feel like i'm playing last years. There is no real big change, the problem with Fifa is that it can be fun for about 30 mins, but then i just wanna turn it off and put on PES for a few hours. I've already found about 5 or 6 bugs in this game, since i am a games tester by trade, it makes me wonder who actually play tested Fifa this year on 360. Plus the referee is this years Fifa is like the ref is PES 5, a complete dickface. Fifa will always be inferior, its just the way it is, they rely more on shiny licensing than they do on Gameplay and Simulation. Its the little touches in PES that make it special, and Fifa just never has those. its always the same in Fifa, no real chance or need for a passing game. Get the ball up front, do a little shimmy to one side then the other to get space, shoot, score. In PES however i can pass it around and build long flowing moves with a great finish on the end of it. It's all in peoples opinions though and if you prefer Fifa then fair enough, Imagine though, Fifa's licensing with PES's animations and Gameplay ;) It would be heaven :)

i must agree.but i dont know if pes would have the same longevity if it was fully licensed,if i ever get bored i use to do some editting, then play and it would jus refresh the game.saying that so long as i could still edit boots and appearnces i would be happy, plus its always gonna be awesome too ahve full licensing, shame its never seen in fifa becuase the games pap.

how come theres only 6 leagues in fifa this time?whne i rented it i thought i would do a career with leeds, reverse there fortunes, instead of getting relegated id of got em back in prem!!but they arent on it

The lack of leagues is due to EA implementing the new opportunity for Xbox Live Marketplace league purchases. Each league will be a large number of Microsoft points. EA as you can see, are money grabbing bastards and always will be ;)

well ea doing that doesnt effect me.only thin on marketplace i would by is summat for pro evo, like an edit mode, although that should be free if it ever happened.new maps for gow or rb6 and the odd arcade game like sf2 or mk3.nothing else is worth paying for,i mean i just got nfs carbon and downloaded the free cars on the market place but theres loads of other options too pay for so it looks like theyl be doing it for most games, whats next selling us boxers on fight night

the arguement over shooting, it is a good arguement im the bench tho for this as i can score some cracking goals but i do understand what people are saying you can be clean on goal and u power up your shot and all of a sudden its in row z. but i have fifa and this time around it has got me hooked still a little gluey with the ball but getting there, i think it comes to the fact now do we really want a total simulation of football because if we go to far with it i think the fun facter will be lost, does anyone agree with that,

with all the got to get ur body in line and on the rite foot ok fair enough it should be a little hard but i think most of the people want to play football on the computer to have a laugh and see there great players score amazing goals not having to think way to hard about ur positioning, thats trust my opinion, i dont mind it me i like to have to think about it all but at the end of the day most gamers who play football games want to have fun not to worry about all the angle of the player and stuff its gettin way into maths and sh*t tht lol

i agree we dont want a total simulation of football coz if it was then people would be crying on the floor when somebody mereley "clipped" them yet they would be acting as if they had been shot, you would also hate whistles because of how often you would be hearing them!

fair point about just playing for fun but i think if you didnt have too position yourself for shots it would be less fun,i mean shooting and scoring from impossible positions and body angles would be just too easy and annoying, imagine playing a m8 and you have some good chances but keeper saves em,all of a sudden the 1 footed beckham is through on goal moving towards the bottom left corner flag he turn a left footed shot in,how pi*sed of would you be!!

and theres nothing funnier than watching a m8 take it round your keeper in the 90 min and been forced too shoot and sky it because of the angle/body position!!! thats my opinion anyways

Oh and in this years Fifa, every keeper appears to be Jesus. They are so frustrating. I can score loads of cracking goals but then u will have a match where the keeper just saves everything without fail. It is indeed a very frustrating outlook towards goalkeepers skill level. Oh and the player pictures in Player profiles... did they get hold of some really old passport photos cause they all look shit.

Something that pissed me off, was that when you sub a player, the new guy that comes on has mud all over his kit. It's as if the players have just swaped heads and the same body comes back on. Very shoddy indead.

I mentioned the mud thing in an earlier post, it seems that the players have gotten just a little bit too nervous waiting to come on and have shit themselves haha
