As 09 approaches closer I'm beaming with joy. But we usually get very excited and anticipate the greatest game ever, only to play for 20 minutes and realise, hey this aint as good as last year, or hey Fifa is better than this. I am as big a mark of PES and even ISS (back in the day) but I have to ask this....

Do we see the next years instalment in our sights?

If this game bombs, And Fifa prevails, then surely Seabass and Konami have to want to stop trying. It could be emmbaressing for them.
I wanna play PES till I'm old and gray but like the story of the old dog that just couldnt stand no more (cant remember his name), maybe its time to put Pro Evo down...

That been said I hope 09 is amazing... That is all!

It's actually not that bad of a thread.

The problem does come when you ask "How many of you will buy PES 2010 if 2009 is a failure?" because seeing as this site is littered with PES die-harders, the answer is going to be a resounding yes by most people, if not everyone.

Sure, if we play PES 2009 and end up being disappointed in it, you'll see comments on here from fans saying "That's it! No more Konami!!" when the truth is as soon as previews and news comes out for 2010, they'll all be back on the band-waggon.

Yeah we hype it up waaaaaaaaay too much. PES 2008 was the worst PES....and better then the best FIFA. So there you have it. If we could all just realize that PES really is the best soccer title then maybe we would not be so disappointed. But im glad that FIFA is starting to get better ( its still way behind i think in gameplay ) but at least konami will get scared now and start to ( yes ) INNOVATE! thats of course asusming that they want to stay ahead of the competition.

FIFA 09 looks very improved and im expecting even more improvements in 2010 from EA....but i have a good feeling KONAMI are already working on PES 2010.


btw idk if you guys remember.....but Seabass said that they have been working on PES 2009 for over a year and a hald ( to this point ). He said that they were working on PES 2009 even before PES 2008 was done. hmmm...

I also remember Seabass saying they were spanding years on Pro Evo Manager and does anyone remember that? NO it was a bag of shite!

Konami will continue to produce pro evos year after year because as long as they are getting the sales, which they are. Even if they are producin the same shit every year with minimal additions it doesnt matter as they no for a fact the 'Loyal' fans will continue to invest in the game and hype it up.

I hope to god that this years inclusion is as good as i hope. But if it isnt i see myself still purchasing 2010 which no doubt may also be just an update of the early Pro Evo.

Konami needs to start listening us, stop being lazy and give us 'Loyal' fans the good old PES days back.

BTW Konami only want to stay ahead of FIFA in terms of sales and i think even PES 08 outsold FIFA 08 so thats job done for them really. They need to focus on staying ahead of FIFA in terms of the game itself.

PES 2009 hasn't even come out, patience OP, let's have this thread at least when PES 2009 hits the stores.

And by the way, i'm with tommytaylor, i'm wating for PES 2030, to celebrate my 50th birthday with my brand new PlayStation 7

The point of this is, will there be a 2010?
Obviously if there is we will al get panty wet and buy it but what if there isnt anymore due to lack of evolution!?

Dude, Konami just wont stop making PES all of the sudden, come on, and in fact, maybe this is not that bad of a thread, because i have read in a lot of sites that Konami for PES 2010, will be releasing a new engine, some people say that for 2011, but the most i've read say 2010.

So, yeah, i'm looking for 2010, but not because 2009 will be bad, just because they say it will be a new engine, and even if it's not a new engine, it will be better than 2009.

Well, i'm saying that in a way that if they have one more year to work in the 2008, 2009 will be better, and if they have one more year to work in 2009, 2010 will be better.

On the other hand, if by 2010 they release a new engine, i will be looking forward to that, but that i can't say it will be a good game, because i have nothing to compare it to.

Heres a good example:

I played LMA religously, I was a die hard fan and bought the game every year. It peaked at about 2003 (guess) then slowly got worse every year, in the same way PES does. They take out little things and try push for 1 big thing. Like the Pro mode this year. Then all of a sudden LMA dispatched, went away, DIED!

It could happen... OK they have talks about 2010 already, so what about 2011?
2012? 2013?

My point been that this great thing in our lives could die soon...
IF SOMETHING ISNT DONE!

Far from it...I just love this franchise more than most things... Wife included!
And want to know peoples thoughts on the PES as a whole, not just the current years release.

Is PES going to survive?
