The Boss
Following the success of last years guide, Piggyback Interactive bring us Pro Evolution Soccer 6: The Expert Guide, compiled over the past 6 months whilst working closely with the PES development team in Japan.
The guide is suitable for PS2, PC and XBox 360 versions of the game, with button instructions for each. There is an extra section in the guide for the exclusive XBox 360 features.
Inside the cover you will find a free DVD. This went straight into my machine as I was eager to know what they'd put together for our viewing pleasure. On the disc you will find:
- Coaching Manual
- Secret Moves (some of which even I didn't know existed)
- Situation Guide
- Beautiful Goals
- Interview (With game creator, Seabass, discussing PES6)
All in all there is over 150 moves, shots, tricks and advanced techniques for all you Pro Evo experts. The DVD is well presented, and comes with 'cheesy' menu music to rival any Pro Evolution Soccer game.

The slick look of the disc is carried through into the guide its self, with every page clearly thought out and planned for ease of browsing and navigation.
Although this is the Expert Guide, the team behind the book didn't want to leave Pro Evolution Soccer newcomers feeling lost. Included is a basic, yet detailed enough, "How to Play" section to help players understand the most basic of functions in the game.
After the basics, it's pretty much all aimed at making you an expert PES player.
Discover all the moves and tricks, each with difficulty ratings to show which moves will take the longest to master. The in depth "Moves Index" looks at absolutely every minor feature of the Pro Evolution Soccer 6 gameplay, with approximately (there was simply too many to count!) 100 different techniques.
This year there is also a brand new "Secret Moves" section - detailing all of the tricks the pro-players have up their sleeves.
In the guide you will also find:
A complete overview of the Master League, with advice on transfers and keeping the wage bill down.
Full tactics tutorials and explanations of things such as player condition and fatigue.
Team guides of the top sides in Europe with full attribute listings for each player and advised formations to be used with each side.
An "Extras" section with details of the PES Shop and a guide to each stadium in the game.
All in all, the Pro Evolution Soccer 6: Expert Guide is a must have for any PES player who wants to further their game. The 174 pages gives you at least 3 months worth of training to get through before you can call yourself a true pro.
Quite possibly the most comprehensive guide you will find for any game.
