Yes well said yk28. Fifa is more of a game and Pro evo is football and realistic as life. Welcome to the forums.

Some say "ISS",
some say "PES",
Some say "P E S",
Some say "Pro Evo",

and some just say "let's play some footie!!"

yeah, well said, but what about WE? :)

And FIFA is okay, but there is no way you can even compare the two games. PES/WE is off the scale on it's own, but with the patches, well, what can I say?

PES is horse-shit compared to FIFA. FIFA = Authenticity. PES = Garbage. FIFA has the best top-notch graphics, best support from leagues around the world and the best gameplaye so far with the new off the ball feature, and is basicly the epitome of what a football game should be.

EDIT: By the way, I love the PES3 cover, really. I think it's great. I wish EA would have put a referee on the front cover of FIFA Football 2004 instead of Henry, Ronaldinho, and Del Piero.

I was a FIFA player... up until now. (bought all FIFA's up until now)

Anyone who thinks FIFA is better go and get your head checked! Or you obviously do not know what football is all about. (Sounding like Roy Keane there ;) )

For example, the AI in FIFA is shocking. Players don't make runs (the full backs always stay back) unless you tell them to. If you try go via the wing then good luck. Try as I might I could never go down the wing and whip a decent cross in. And the computer always attack through the centre! They never go via the wing. And what's worse, the computer never does any build up play, it's always a quick counter attack consisting of one touch passing and a low shot on goal.

Once I got my hands on the PES3 demo I was stunned at how much better than FIFA it is. Even the graphics are much smoother and crisper. And it does not seem scripted like FIFA is. Once you play it you don't care what licences it has and doesn't have.

After playing FIFA for all these years you would think I would have a bias towards FIFA but I can see that PES is a much, much better game which will keep me playing for ages.

the shooting on fifa games is too 'weightless'. the ball traveles too fast so u can't see where the ball is until it hits the back of the net. on the other hand fifa does have better commentators, but PES3 overall wipes the floor with the fifa series. :D

Unlike most people I'll approach both games with an open mind and not just say PES3 when I havent even played either game. Right now I dispise Fifa and the people who claim it's better than PES cos quite frankly it just isnt. But this year FIFA are goin hit or miss, if their new off the ball thing works then it could be a good hit, if it dosent then it's a huge miss. But I'm still leaning in the directing on PES, hasnt let me down yet ;)

I agree, it would be totally irrational if EA made a better football game than pro evo and people refused to play it.

Having said that, EA have been making FIFA games for years and Konami have always had an edge over them in terms of gameplay; I can't see this changing as no matter how good FIFA gets PES always seems to improve more.

You registered with this forum just to post that twaddle? Honestly, EA's marketing people have no standards  .

Well i just been playin fifa 2004 on the gamecube at my mates. Ive always been and ISS/PES fan and hes always prefered fifa!

I liked fifa 2003 but 2004 just dont feel right. it feels very slugish. players dont seem to respond well. The game doesnt really seem to have different breaks of speed. i was just not impressed...!

The game looks very nice kits / players / stadiums etc. and the official licsence is nice 2 have.

but gameplay wise pes3 is far superia game. and after all the hype has gone about fifa 2004 and the adverts have stopped beein shown on the tv. the tru console football fans will still be playing and enjoying pes3

Just been reading some fifa forums, heres a quote from 1 fifa fan:

Today I got confirmed by the store where I bought my FIFA 2004 for the Xbox.

There are severe problems with both the PS2 and Xbox Fifa 2004s. It seems that the games are rushed and EA have missed for example several option varieties. All are said to be in the game in the manual but they aren't. Examples:

Xbox (which game is the absolute worst I have ever played, and I am a BIG Fifa fan) :

Basic Options
1. No choice where you can choose "game speed"
2. No choice where you can adjust to "wide" screen on tv.

Advanced options
1. No choice if you want the player name under your player or the position.

Audio
1. No choice if you want the game sound "from the pitch" or "commentary".

And all of the above is mentioned in the manual, that is, they should be there !! This is close to a catastrofy.

For the PS2 , you can chose "wide", but the rest are also not in there. The PS2 gameplay flows better, because the Xbox version is a tragedy, it basically is hopeless to steer. What is this ?? I am deeply dissapointed.

Will be interesting if they adjust these things to the Gamecube and PC version, they are due in one week from now, here in Sweden.

Today A LOT of people returned their games to the store, and the store mentioned the supplier and EA support Sweden confirmed something is wrong. How serious is not this ?? Will they return, say, 10 000's of games and re do them or... ?

No, right now I fell sad (FIFA 2004 should have been the love of my life) that I will only play the brilliant NHL 2004. And maybe I have to by myself The Pro Evo footie, something I would never have done a year ago, because FIFA 2003 was the best soccer game I've ever played. And I thought it would be "a walk in the parklane" to produce the same game with some improvements, but EA has really not done this well. It hurts to say, but it is the very dark truth.

Lord Shrimpeh

NAY WE ARE BUT MEN. ROCK.
FIFA has division one, two and three which i guess its alright but if it was realisitic enough (which it probably isn't) div 1,2,3 play in a totally different way to premiership. Also whats the point, the fun is playing as a world class team beating a world class team yeovil doesn't have the same appeal (to me anyway). Club footballs stupid, they're bound to have made the teams a lot better than they really are or else whats the point of buying the aston villa version?

Fifa can kiss my rosy red ass!

I've got Pes, Pes2 & Pes3 on playstation2. also bought fifa games

Fifa can rebundle their package all they like. Every year I open up a mag and find, (wait for it....) Usual fancy double page spread of marketing bull shit! I'm sure the marketing director has said "Hey, this year we will use "Spotlight off the ball" as our main gimmick.

Off the ball control.
Off the ball Receiving
Off the ball Vision.

OK graphics are great, but the gameplay stick lacks the depth and knowledge of a true football game. Fifa games are arcade games!

And if anybody disagrees with my opinion on FIFA games they can kiss my ROsey Red ASS ! X X X
