Problem - Black Screen when loading!

Had a problem with my game tonight when trying to load it. It showed the PS2 logo and then went to a black screen. Very weird as this never happens to me. Retried it. Turned off PS2 from the back. Nothing.

Checked the disk and found a nice thumbprint of a friend. Wiped it off in the correct manner - soft cloth (like the one you clean glasses/spectacles with) in straight lines from the centre to the edge.


Sorted. Game works fine.

So if you get this problem, try giving the disk a nice wipe to clean it of prints and other bugs you may have picked up ;)

I get this sometimes but it because i've got a slimline so dust gets on the lens fer easily when you open the lid.

Resurfacing fluid is good too for scratched, damage or fingerprinted discs.

Yea or sometimes it just might be your laser wants cleaning cleaned easily using spirits (vodka) and some tissue

Most boring story ever, you should try and sell that one to a publisher, For the sequel you can tell people what they need to do when they finish having a shit to avoid brown marks in there crackers, u knob..

Dozens of people complain about their game not working and this could help some of them. It wasn't written to entertain nitwits like you. No-one forced you to read it so it's your own fault if it was no use to you. Using half of your own brain could have told you that. Clown.

This is abit off topic but has any one expericed this:

You put you disk in and where the hole in the disk is a bit of the it snaps off....It happened to me some of my disk snaped off and it stll works :confused:

i tried one of those lens cleaner cause my ps2 doesn't play compatc disc anymore and the stupid lens cleaner doesn't work

How do you clean your laser on an old (chunky) PS2?

I have a PS2 with a mod-chip - it was bought just after the PS2 came out, the first model - and suprisingly still works, even though I was told the lasers on the old ones arent good etc.
