Finally got PES6 and then it doesnt work!!!!
I put the disk in my dvd drive and noting happens...auto menu doesnt appear. I've been to my computer, double clicked on my disk drive and the computer basically freezes, my computer comes up as not responding. I've tried other disks with no problem.

Is there a problem with the actual disk? or a compatibility issue?

plz someone help i need to play this game!!

Hi Tomster,

I have had the same problem. I went ballistic, but then I thought that upgrading the firmware of my dvd player might do the trick. It did. It might work for you too.

Player was Samsung writemaster, don't know the precise type. Good luck, the game is great when it works.

Regards,
Paul

Lo m8, i had/have the same problem as you, the dvd drive just wont read the disk, but after taking the disk out and putting it in again about 50 times it finally read it and i was able to install.

Now its installed ok it still dosnt seem to like reading the disk, but the way i get it to read it is to put the disk in the dvd drive but leave it open then restart the pc.
When it shuts down and starts to boot again the disk drive closes, then when windows boots up voila, i go to my computer look at my dvd drive and there it is, pes6, all works fine.
But if i take the disk out it wont read it again untill i do the restart thing.

Try this and even if it dosnt work at least keep trying because if you can get it to read it just once to install, then you can apply a no dvd patch which im gonna have to do.

One last thing, i had a dvd copying program allready installed on my pc that was loading at start up, called drag to disk.
I stopped this loading at start up and seemed to have more luck getting the disk to read, so make sure to turn any programs like this off too.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Thanks a lot mate ur a legend for trying to help BUT!!! still doesnt work.
I've tried leaving the tray open and restarting the computer with cd in and the tray closes but my computer wont start with the CD in!!!
It gets to the windows loading screen and then goes black and just stays there. If I open the DVD tray the computer starts to load again.
So I tried opening it quickly and closing again but then the computer froze at the user log in screen!! but as soon as i open the DVD drive it continues starting up!!!
I dont understand how this disk is not only not being read!!! but can also stop my computer starting up when its in the drive???

I'll keep trying to put it in and out, and hope that it will read the disk one time, and thanks for your help again.
BUT....!
Does anyone have any idea wots causing this disk to not be read?? and how I can sort it out? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated please

hey man i have the exact same CD drive as you. I had GTR2 with the same problem so i little hit the side of the tower a few times and it worked i dunno if that did anything but pro evo now works when the CD is inserted staight away about 75% of the time. Upgrading the frimware didnt do anything for me. The problem is basically the copy protection software on the DVD.

Can anyone suggest anything else? A way of bypassing this compatibility issue? even someone i can email/contact to give me an answer?

Hey dude I have had this problem with pes 4 5 and 6, and after what seemed to be 100s of attempts for the dvd drive to read it ....it finally does and I could install.Thing is after that i've never got the discs to be read again by my drive and have to rely on no cd patchs.I've written to konomi on each occasion and never got a reply on each occasion.
Updating my drivers didn't help either....I'm afraid all you can do is to keep trying to load the disc many many many many times.
Hope you get it going dude

ok thanks for your help ill keep trying with the CD. So did you just leave ur computer on and just put the CD in and out until the auto menu popped up?

There must be a proper solution to this problem though!!! Konami are very unhelpful...I cant seem to find anyway of contacting them for UK technical support or anything!!

I spose I have 24 days to try the CD until i have to give up and return it :(

Yeah I just kept letting it run for a minute...then if nothing seemed to be happening opened the drive and shut it again. If your comp is freezing up though (that didn't happen with me)maybe try it in safe mode with (as many services and applications are not loaded).
Mind you now I have got it running i can't connect online...get the port problem comming up.
Good luck

Try it in 'Safe Mode', if you can enter the cd without problem then your Windows installation has problems whit securom.

Lol, well after 2 days of using my restart technique it no longer works and after half hour of ejecting, i tried something that worked 1st time.
After reopening the tray 50 times or so, i then opened it and spun the disk round a centimeter so it went in differently, and it read 1st time.
Only problem is i dare not try it again in case it dosnt work, im on my dinner now and im gonna leave my pc on till i get back tonight :p

A long shot i know but i thought it might be worth a try.;)

AHH!! ive tried everything... ive reopened the tray soooo many times and no luck..ive tried moving the disk a bit each time and still no luck.

Im starting to hate Konami!! i finally found an address to send them an email...and they reply saying they cant help as there American branch and give me the website of the UK office...... but that web page doesnt even have Pro 6 as one of its products on support page!!! The UK office doesnt even have an email address to contact them and u have to pay 75p a minute to call them!!!! its a DISGRACE.

In the mean time ill have to keep trying the CD but i dont understand how it can just suddenly work if its a problem with copy protection? wot difference shud opening and closing make?

Can anyone tell me how to restart in safe mode with most programs turned off as Kurdminator suggested? ive only seen that option when the computer has crashed and dont know how to get to it normally

Yeah just press F8 once the initial boot up post (thats the beep sound) has finished just press it a couple of times and it should give you the option to boot into safe mode. Then choose the option safe mode and it will continue to boot up.
I've also tried contacting konami on various e-mail addresses and have had no replies at all for this problem for 4 ,5 and 6 .At least you got a reply of some sorts.....even though it helps you not a jot.Seems every country except UK and Eire have e-mail adresses, yet we have to pay 75p a minute for some numpty reading a cue card that has no real chance of helping you i.e. Have you made sure its plugged in etc.
Maybe FIFA isn't so bad an option after all.............

i'd been getting one fine until today when i tried to start and got this message:

"Please insert the original disc instead of a backup. See http://www.securom.com/no_orig_found for more details."

the suggestion on the site about dma mode is useless as i'm in it already.

i think all that happened is that i copied some files to a dvd in between playing it yesterday and today, that's probably the first time it's been out of the machine since i installed it. happened to anyone else?
