Problems giving advanced passes in online games

Hi everybody. I've been having problems giving advanced passes with the "triangle button" when playing online. I press the triangle button and the ball goes in the direction chosen. But when my player receives the ball, he automatically gives it away, like I've been pressing the button again. It happens to me almost every time I play online games.

Can anybody help me?
