Professional Vs Top Player

I'm not sure if anyone is having this "problem" as such but...

I played literally 10-20 matches in a row on professional difficulty and i didnt score in any of them!! I conceded like two or three and i was getting rather agitated to say the least, especially as the matches are like 30 seconds long (exaggeration )

I then decided to put it to top player to see how much harder it was...and i won 1-0 the first time playing it!

Is there something wrong here?....

That is very true indeed

In my head i think that in professional difficulty the AI dont try and press or tackle like you would expect in real life so i play right into their dumb hands! And then in Top Player the opposition do what i expect in real life so i can play around it. It's weird, the harder it is, the kind of easier it is

yea i mean Amateur, i won 9-0, was Spain against someone i think but then Professional, i couldnt score for shizzle!

Mate i'm having the same problem. I play on professional and its solid but on top player its still hard but I just seem to get a goal and snatch the win.
I understand that luck could be the 'problem' but I have played the demo for ages and most of the time its easier to score on top player.
I've had this problem on previous PES games too.

Anyway its OK, I wouldn't have said anything if you didn't start this thread lol I would have just carried on playing like I was

Theres too much of a hench difficulty gap between Amateur and Professional!

I have also noticed that in top player, your own AI players make more runs and are in much more space whilst in professional they stand around like lemons!

Hey I remember, pes 6 had a similar problem. It played harder on top player. Or was it another pes? But I am sure there was one similar.
Maybe they defen better, but make more spaces because they attack more on top player? Could be.

This has been the case with just about every Pes. Pro vs Top, 5* vs 6*. I always spend a lot of time on both in every Pes so rest assured you're not delusional.

On Pro they sit back more, the d plays deeper, and they don't press like madmen so often times it's harder to score on them but they're pretty useless in attack. On Top they press hard and are very attack minded so often times it leaves huge gaps for you to exploit so easier to score but harder to defend.

IMO i maybe think that they could get rid of difficulty in some way and have it so a team like Man Utd would be hard to play against and a lesser team would be somewhat easier...

I don't have luck with professional difficulty too yet i do better in Top Player. Maybe the challenge motivates you to do better

Ideally yes we should be able to go top player without a trade off. Hopefully things will be better in the final game.

I know what you mean how in previous editions all teams generally play a similar style in the com's hands so it'll be interesting to see if all the various team styles really make a noticeable impact this year.

What i have found is that playing against Professional is like playing against what i like to call "a cheatin game". We all must have shouted at the tele once or twice and cursed to the heavens shouting, "OMG THEYRE JUST CHEATING!!"

Top Player is more like playing against a human opponent i feel, much better!

i have yet to sample the meatheads of PES online coz its apparently too pants!

You're definetely right there was, Shaun. I actually think it was pes 5. Huge gap from professional to top player. Since that game, i've always started at top player to get used to it as quickly as possible.

Professional is translated to "Haut Niveau"
Top Player is translated to "Professionnel"

Btw on the WE 10 demo we can see the Super Star difficulty, is it common in WE or does that mean we might get it in PES too ?

This has been the case with just about every Pes. Pro vs Top, 5* vs 6*.

Shouldn't it be 4* and 5* ?

A big disappointment.
In both levels the AI gameplay bulding is poor and predictable (lack of fair..and too many crosses in the box..)
I have never seen a cool AI troughpass for example...
The defence phase instead is very good and balanced.
Another issue i noticed:
AI barely try a long shot range and often is inclined to pass the ball despite having spaces for good shooting opportunities.
This is especially irritating when the AI player has a high shot power and tec rating.
I hope this issue swill be addressed in final version..

i dont have this problem, i just simply get beat on professional and top player. i stick with it on professional though as after a while i scrape some 1-0 wins.
