PS2 Dumping Players

Is there seriously no dumping space for unwanted players? The PES and WE teams are nearly full anyway, I want to dump those players so I can fill them up with the extra players you can buy.

It seems a basic flaw, you can bring extra players in, but you can't put the old ones anywhere.

The new updated version of WE8 is supposed to have dumping as an option.

Until then...

I wanted to do the same thing, and this was the best I could do...

Go through every player on PES and WE teams and take all of their ratings down to -1-. Next, rename every player "empty" or "empty space" (you might want to remove their names from the back of their shirts too). Next, send all of these "empty spaces" to other club teams. I just used the last couple of clubs above the PES and WE teams. You'll get a prompt when each club team is full. Once its full, just go to another one. Once you've got all the "empty spaces" onto other club teams, make sure that they're all the way down at the bottom. Although I think they were all down there automatically.

Beware though. If you start a Master League with this setup, all of the "empty spaces" will have their ratings restored to their default values. But they'll still be named "empty."

I think Riot on PESFAN has the best ideas on making an option file that works with the Master League. But my setup works fine for all other game modes.

what if i dont want classic players in my ML!?

Classic players that are unlocked but not placed on a team will not appear in your first ML season. But they will become available for signing during your first off-season. The computer controlled teams will sign these guys too, I think.

So the only way to keep classic players out of multiple ML seasons is to not unlock them. This is what Riot has done in his option file at pesfan.com. I hear he's going to release another update by this weekend, so I'm going to wait until then. The one out now is pretty current though.

Also, if you begin a ML with classic players already on your team, their ages will be set to 17 and their ability ratings will be lowered. They do seem to grow quickly and regain much of their prior greatness. Though I did read somewhere that their final earned ratings in the ML usually don't end up exactly the same as their default ratings.

If you change the names and ability ratings of the fictional PES and WE team members, in the ML their names will remain changed but their ability ratings will be reset to their default levels. Riot got around this by matching a real-life player with a similar ability level to each fictional player. So the names remain changed and the ML ratings reset doesn't matter.

This is what I think I know about the ML's quirks. Hope it helps.

what do u mean by "their final earned ratings in the ML usually don't end up exactly the same as their default ratings."? do u mean they will end up worst or better?

I don't know about "worse or better," but they will most likely end up "slightly different." Their ratings will probably not end up "identical" to their default ratings, but they will probably end up "very similar" to their default ratings.

They might be higher than their default ratings in certain categories, but lower in others. Whether they're "worse or better" is for you to decide.

Pele and Maradona will still wind up awesome, but lesser-known players will obviously not wind up as good as Pele or Maradona.
