I burned a patched WE7I iso onto a Mitsubishi CDR with CDRWIN at 2X, boot it and everything's fine. But one irritating thing that my PS2 started to give this 'hiss' and 'psst' sound everytime it's loading or playing....anyone help?

It might be your 'station having trouble reading the CD-r. Are they good quality CD-rs? Does it sound like the PS2 is having trouble and clicking a bit as well? Try Memorex Black if the problem persists.

That's normal in't it?
The technomonoligy is 4 years old!
If it makes you feel any better mine makes a "keerrrrploooonk.......spik" noise every time I load a disc. Maybe that's because I stood on the disc tray once & snapped the front off. I like to think it's just general wear & tear though. ;)
The whoooosh of the internal fan upsets the cats too.
And the neighbours, if they're in.

Slightly off-topic but my girlfriends brother bought a silver PS2 the other day and it is so quiet you can't hear it. I have a very old PS2 (I remember pre-ordering it (from Dixons!) when they were released and all that bollocks so mine sounds like it runs on steam or something. Keerrrploonk...spik is a very good description actually. But then I again, I have a DMS3 chip, a maxtor 120gb harddrive, HDLoader Lite on memory card and internet connection so he can keep his quiet PS2! The bugger...........
