i was playing against a guy form DIVISION 1 called CRAZYFRANKIE...
I was beating him 3-0...
Except from insulting me all the time,after the 3d goal,he was making lag when i was on attack...
Finally he ..."lost" his connection...

Yeh, i was beating a guy 4-0 in the first half, during half time he took an age to kick off the second and honestly, i coul dnot play, it was lagging every scond of that half. Still beat him 4-1. Then last night i was getting complaints of matches lagging, but nothing was using the internet, msn, bitcomet, updates, firewalls etc were all off. I want to have decent games some im not going to knowingly mess them up. I just think konami didnt prepare for vast amounts of people playing online. Either tha tor they were really dumb and the server is in japan!! Oh and if you see a guy called reckless.....he decides that it his his duty to mock, insult and then disconnect when losing a match and then tell the whole lobby that your host is lagging....avoid!:realmad:

I thought I was being paranoid, but this has happened to me numerous times as well! I have been all over people in the first half, leading by a couple of goals and then in the second half I suspect they start to use their internet connection for surfing or anything else that demands bandwidth and then I get lag at my end. They then proceed to score because I cannot control my players:realmad:

I cannot see how someones connection can deteriorate so drastically from the first half to the second.

Because in the one half you are gonna be host so there will be no lag at all for you.

Yeah people playing silly buggers is stupid not in the spirit of the game. yeah everyone does formation tweaks but try to do it in a timely manner. not totally run down the clock etc etc. Everyone loses games but thats life you congratulate your opponent and move on. Not arse about like a mincer!!!

Probably the reason you are 3 up by half time is because the other persons game is lagging. It's crap but I don't think people are gonna deliberately bugger up the connection just to avoid defeat.

I have had loads of complaints recently about my half lagging, I had upgraded to a 4 mb connection a few days ago, at least I though I did, I did a few speed tests on the computer due to the complaints, it turns out that Blueyonder didn't upgrade me at all and was on a 512k connection, which is strange as I have never been lower than 1mb (or at least I thought I had not) So my apologies to anybody that I played claiming that I had a 4mb connection and any lag was not due to me. Having spoke to Blueyonder and getting them to rectify the problem, basically do as they should of done, I still got complaints, choosing only the green rooms (low ping) and is with:-

So I am not sure what is causing the lag, I plug the PS2 directly in to the cable modem so there is no issue with firewalls, routers, downloads or anything else computer specific.

I have noticed that I did get high ping rates (latency) (using the tracert command) but a little config on my network card (computer) reduced that to an acceptable level. Suggesting that this was a local problem. However, if anybody knows the IP for the pes5 server it would be helpful for a latency test.

Can anyone help, could it be BIOS related do you think, I am using the slim model with bios 1.0.1 (i think)

I have trawelled the playstation forums and can not find anything to help reduce lag there, my next step is speak again with Blueyonder to see if they know anything about it. there is also something made by Hawking, it is a cable modem booster and is supposed to help with online gaming and VOIP, it is about £55 all in. 'Hawking HBB1 Broadband Booster'
