I've been told that you can transfer Option files to your PS3 via a USB device, but the OF has to be in .PSV format and in the correct folder structure, ie USB:pS3/EXPORT to allow your PS3 to transfer the OF to the hard drive on the PS3.

I had to do something similar to update my PS3 Firmware, as i don't have broadband at home yet.

I used my mp3 player, downloaded the latest firmware, put it in folder USB:pS3/UPDATE plugged it into USB on PS3 and updated my firmware.

No worries man, I'm no techno buff myself.

I'm not sure but i think all you would have to do is download the option file and correct names and kits would be yours.

Providing you have your PS3 setup to go online.

If not then yes the max-drive would act as the USB device i mentioned earlier.

If i download the optionfile to my p.c where should i save it to?I did set up my internet connection on ps3 last night so is it just a matter of downloading the file and connecting to the internet.is there a way of sending files from your pc to the ps3 without any device's.
