31 here , been playing pro from day one too ! and i feel what you say . The way PES makes you feel is enough to make you think twice about staying home playing it or go shooting around a real ball with your friends like you do every week because it gives you satisfacton like you are playing for real ,Now when i say that im saying a lot because i would never swap a soccer game with my friends with anything. Fifa never gives me that feeling.

You seem to see no faults in it, and if anyone says something they don't like about it you'll have a response implying that they don't like it because they don't know enough about football, which is rubbish.
I see the faults mate but it stills plays and feels like real football. Nothing anyone says will make me change my mind as I know what I see and I know what I feel. Also I have playtested the game as much or more than probably anyone else on here Rob.

What I dont understand with you, is that you can appreciate PES 5 and it's mechanics which is the core of what Konami strive to achieve in all their games bar PES 2008, yet to say you prefer Fifa which comes from a completely different angle. You either understand pure footballing physics, or you dont. Flashy skills, beautiful animations, amazing presentation, and the ability to play with Coventry City will never convince me that Fifa feels and plays more realistic than PES, no matter how brightly it shines.

Piss poor shooting, floating ball physics, super scripted keepers and 11 players on the same team that play pretty much the same as the next man doesnt simulate football for me, no matter how good it looks.

But each to their own. But as mentioned previous, PES is the Footballers game of choice, and I couldnt agree more. And I think there is a reason for that.

In my opinion, the reason why this PES is not hailed like that of the earlier versions of PES is, Konami is moving towards realism in gameplay. When you get closer to gameplay, the games tend to be less exciting and more tactical.

I have played PES 5 and forward. I would say PES 2009 is the most realistic of all. It may not be the most exciting of all because PES 2009 is more about realism in build-up play and on-the-pitch football. If you love realism and the tactical side of the game, you might love PES 2009.

i've answered your question already but i guess you're to blind to see it but than again i should've known that already.
the game lacks SOUL , it's to repetitive ,to predictable and unresponsive so i'd take PES over FIFA in a heartbeat.
none of all those features they've implemented make the game play better some even make it worse.
that's the biggest problem with FIFA in theory it sounds fantastic but they always seem to mess it up so the theory and the promises don't mean nothing if you can't pull it off.

How can it take more skill, to let the computer take Pk's for you, weight passes for you, take control of shots for you, through balls for you, tackle for you.....

As opposed to weighing your own passes, having full control over shot placement and penalties and having full manual control of gameplay which allows you to make your own mistakes rather than the computer making mistakes for you.

Ps. To say you are delusional and a fanboy is an understatement, nothing fifa implements improves gameplay right, so 360 movement doesnt improve gameplay?

In FIFA the players take the ball the same every fuc*ing time and you are never lucky to take the ball with you. Like i said before, Speed, Strenght and power don't make sense in FIFA. Every player have the same speed, but the AI seems to be faster. They have the same shotpower. Strenght..... I don't even want to comment on that. PES have some problem with this, but not as bad as FIFA.

In pes, when you miss a PK, you dont do anything different in the button command that makes you miss, the CPU decides wether you miss or score

In fifa, how much you alter the powerbar decides wether you miss or score.

In PES, You press the direction you want and then press the X button to shoot, which is taken by the CPU and in FIFA, you choose the direction you want and then hold the X button little longer to shoot and it's also taken by the CPU.

Or am i wrong?
