Putting Some Curl On Shots

I have been at WE8i for only a few days now, but i've come to realize that I have next to no luck at putting curl on shots. I assume it's in the game, as it certainly happens on freekicks, but on shots, i'm fresh out of ideas as to how to get the ball to bend how I want it, and frankly, being able to put some bend on it rather than just blasting it straight every time would be a welcome addition to my shot arsenal.

Can it be done in WE8i/PES4? If so, what's the trick to it?

EDIT: I've done some searching on the topic, but there seems to be no consensus answer. Anyone have one?

I'm pretty sure all you need to do is to press left or right on the dpad when the shot is powering up. One note though, when you shoot take your thumb off the dpad then press the shoot button then aim it. I've found that if you run down the pitch and shoot w/o taking your thumb off the dpad you'll shoot the ball wide every time.

I found for me it depends where the player is positioned relatvie to the ball. Say a right footed player is about to shoot. If he is positioned quite a bit to the left of the ball he might hit it with the inside of his boot, generating some inside curl. If he is positioned closer to the ball, he might use his laces and create no curl. If he is even closer to the ball he may use the outside of his foot and create outside curl.

Sorry it is sounds complicated, but that's how I think the curl on my shots is affected.
