Q: Is there evidence of Konami actually reading this blog?

Iv been writing on this blog for a long time.

At first I thought the Feedback section was a great idea. It gave us fans a chance to actually voice our concerns with the game and gave us the impression that Konami was aiming to improve PES for the better. But after playing the game, there has been little improvement. Graphics for me are not that big a deal considering the more important features that the game suffers from such as bad goalkeepers and unresponsive players.

I can only summarise the additions to this years PES as mainly cosmetic with a better but not great online system.

My question is:

What evidence does this site have that Konami actually read the feedback we posted?

There are tones of posts on features of the game that needed to be improved since PES 6 that are still existent in PES2010.

In fact I even remember reading that Seabass (or some other PES developer) was going to have their own blog on the site. I still haven't seen this mystery blog. I doubt I ever will.

I don't mean this in a bad way, but I want a Mod to give me a few answers.

We never ever claimed anything like that to my knowledge.

well why its called official konami feedback zone PLUS THIS AREA IS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED BY KONAMI well whats i all about

That doesn't mean they have to write a blog on here DOES IT?

It means they've linked to it on their website, endorse it and are claiming that they will read it. Whether they do in fact read it is a Konami matter not a PESGaming one.

Dear Don Sweey

Perhaps I did not phrase it correctly when I said that a Konami developer would have their own blog on PESGAMING.COM. However, this site has on countless instances implied that Konami would be feeding back to us in a more vocal way as a way of showing they are in-touch with their fans.

As a fan of PES, I spent a lot of time (like others) posting about areas of the game that I felt had been weak in recent years and that were the reason why EA had been more successful. In my opinion the feedback-zone has been hugely ONE-SIDED. Konami has had a history of not feeding back to its fans and you know it. I will even quote one of your colleagues Dan Bolas (IWP 04/08/09) saying "Around 18 months ago, as many of you may recall, I sent a letter outlining some suggestions for then PES 2009, a piece of communication which went unanswered and ignored." So why should I be surprised.

You say "We never ever claimed anything like that to my knowledge." I disagree.

Dougiedonut on 05/10/09 said "Seabass is due to release a blog with full details shortly, so sit tight secure with the knowledge that the finished game will player a better game" in response to the demo, and yes he used the word "blog".

http://www.pesgaming.com/blog/pes-2009-news/547/pes-2010-demo-newsflash/

So forgive me if misunderstood but it is what it is if you read it.

Listen, I apologise if this in any way makes whatever relationship you have with Konami difficult. It isnt my intention to do that. All I want to know is, did Konami see the feedback, if yes, then why are bloggers starting new posts complain about stuff that was mentioned while the game was still in development. For me thats just ignoring the feedback and if thats what they did, then Konami has bigger issues internally.

I see your point when you say, "Whether they do in fact read it is a Konami matter not a PESGaming one." But, if thats the case then you should have clarified that Konami has no interest in feeding back on our efforts. I agree it is a Konami matter, so as a representative of the bloggers of this site Im asking you to find out why no action was taken with regards to the feedback since Konami implied they were reading it.
http://www.pesgaming.com/blog/pes-2009-news/449/a-message-to-pesgaming-readers-from-jon-murphy/

"I’m now looking forward to reading reactions over the next few weeks to our announcements. I’m really confident we’ll be able to prove WEP has taken you fans seriously and is doing everything to come up with the game you’re asking for." Jon Murphy.

A lot of fans are disappointed with the game because a lot of aspects of it ignored the feedback. What does his team have to say?

Konami may ACT like they care but it is hard to believe that they do. We were told Konami was listening but the proof is in the game for everyone to play, see, and hear (in terms of the poor commentary) and like I said the changes are mainly cosmetic.

I've only scanned your post because of its length but points to note:

-I'm not a representative of the bloggers, I'm essentially the head admin of the forums and almost never visit the blog.

-As such most of the above is a matter to take up with specific bloggers, sending a PM would be a good way to start even if just directing them to this thread.

-I fully understand you've no intention of damaging any relationship we do have with Konami and I don't believe anything you are saying is out of order. I too have wondered why we've seen no hard evidence of them reading the section they are endorsing.

Dougiedonut on 05/10/09 said "Seabass is due to release a blog with full details shortly, so sit tight secure with the knowledge that the finished game will player a better game" in response to the demo, and yes he used the word "blog".

But that doesn't mean the blog was going to be part of this site though. It means, as I read it, Seabass is to write a blog somewhere on the internet which we would then, as a PES site who provide news, give you the link to. I can only assume Seabass didn't do such a thing from your understandable unhappiness.

While this thread is open I wanted to ask about questions getting to the eyes of Konami... Is there any feedback between the admin of this site and Konami? Its just to have some proof that Konami are reading the posts of people here and paying attention to them? I am sure that admin here would be able to say if there in contact with members of Konami staff... there must be some sort of mutual relationship there if your on the pes needs you campaign... Its just PESfan proclaims itself as the official Konami fan site and you do get to wonder if thats the only site that will get your suggestions to the boys in Japan... It would just be reassuring to see a more active presence by Konami staff and know that what you submit is going to get read!
Thanks

I know that at least dougiedonut has some form of communication with Konami but I don't know enough to provide details.

The bloggers on this website rarely visit the forums to my knowledge so there's a bit of a black hole between questions on the forum and the people who can provide the best answers.

Dear Don Sweey

First of, thank you for clarifying some of the issues. I respect and understand your position and I am sure that you cannot give me all the answers.

It is fair enough that the Seabass blog was not going to be part of Pesgaming.com i can understand that. But again all of this gets back to the one sided nature of the fans relationship with Konami throughout the development of pes2010. In fact the relationship was soo one sided it seems a lot of our suggestions where ignored.

My knowledge about how the site is run is limited so i cannot fault you for not knowing the true extent of the relationship the site has with Konami. I have however invited Dougiedonut into our discussion via PM and I am awaiting his reply.
