Question about xbox option file

So after about weeks of editing everything (and i mean EVERYTHING...down to the faces and hairstyles of the Latvian national team) my option file decides to die. I hate that option file damaged dialog.

I own WE8I for the xbox. I've seen option files for download on this and other websites. Now I know i can delete the option file off my xbox hard drive. I don't have a max drive/xport/modded xbox. However, my friend has a modded xbox, and also has a memory card.

Is it possible for me to download an option file of my choice for the xbox version WE8I on his computer, transfer it over network to his modded xbox (he has network access and file transfer ability from computer to xbox), copy it off his xbox to his memory card, and finally copy that from his memory card onto my non-modded xbox hard drive? In theory it should work.

If it's possible, what option file should I download? I've seen three or four different extensions on the files available here, and a couple of converters as well.

First of all, thank you for replying. And thank you for bearing with a complete newbie.

So I got my hands on the PESFan V3 Xbox option file for PES4 (is this recommended over the Wolf file?). I also downloaded the PESFan Editor and saved the file as a WE8I xbox option file (KONAMI-XBOX-WE8UOPT.xsv).

So all I have to do now is to copy the file off the computer to my friend's xbox running Evolution X, copy it off his hard drive onto my memory card, and finally from the memory card onto my xbox?
