Questions about PES 08/09 PS2/PS3 editing

Hi all, I have a few questions about PES and editing for PS2 and PS3 if someone can help. I'm more into football management games these days than football games like I used to be but I'd like to give football games another go. Being a Newcastle fan, I would obviously like them to be in the correct division, and it would be nice to have all the players and other teams matching real-life as well. I know there is a new PES coming out next month which will reflect this, but I'm not heavily enough into football games to want to pay £40 for a brand new one, and I can't be buying one every year either really. So here are my questions:

Are there option files to update all of the correct players in all English divisions to match the real-life 09-10 season, or at least England League and Championship?

Are there option files to update all of the teams in the England League and Championship to match the real-life 09-10 season?

I know it can be a pain to get these files onto a PS2 memory card, and I'm guessing it would be a lot easier to copy the files to a PS3 with a memory stick, so would I be better off getting PES for PS3 instead of for PS2? Or buying a PS2 memory card reader?

Has anyone done option files for the current season, but for PES 08? Or has everyone moved onto PES 09 now?

Thanks for your help

Ian

Oh yeah I forgot to ask, what's the situation with the PSP versions of Pro Evo? Do people do transfer window/yearly transfer updates for those games too?

Anyone? I would be really useful if I could know about the editing abilities in PES 08 for PS2 or PS3, particularly if I could change the teams to the correct real-life ones throughout the English league, and change the players too.

I tried looking through the option files on this website, but it's hard to tell what platform the files are for.

hmm, have a read of this http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=66305 - it should help with some of your editing questions

The PS2 memory card reader shouldn't be necessary as the PS3 has a memory card emulator (if you're using one that is a backwards compatible model ie: 60gb) - as far as I'm aware you can transfer option files from USB stick and load them on a PS2 game. I'm pretty sure I did this with PES 2008, but didn't bother with 09.

Hmm. As far as I can tell all the option files on the option file list thread seem to be from last year. I'm wondering if it might be worth just doing the editing myself, although I imagine it would take a while
