Questions about updates

I'm pretty new to updating, and didnt even realise you could update your Playstion versions of the game before I came to this forum!
So I have a few questions about them, sorry if they've been asked before.

I understand that you need to have a memory stick to transfer the files, is there any other way of doing this, as I dont have one, if not does anyone know wot size memory stick I need? And how much do they cost (UK)?

I've seen alot of updates on e-bay that you can buy? Are there any that I can get for free?

Can you download crowd chants etc, is this done the same way as the data updates?

I'm asking this with regards to the PS3.

USB is the easiest way. files are not that big, but a 1GB should give you room for lots of data & of course can be used for other things as well. As for price, not 100% sure, but i'm sure tesco's do a cheap 1GB.

It is possible to use an SD or micro SD card (if you have the slots on your PS), but these tend to be more expensive. if you already have one for your camera & are able to transfer data to it from your PC then it's a viable option.
