ranking system

the pes09 ranking system is confusing me!

i recently beat a guy who was ranked 915 while i was ranked 680, and i only got 10 points (up to 690) while he lost 10 points (down to 905)

Yet I've often lost up to 20 points and more when losing to players ranked 550-600 for example. Can anyone explain this system to me? Seems a bit stupid to me!

i dont know anything about online .. i dont play it .. but points may vary considering on the goals u have scored/conceeded ?

its fucked up, i played someone we was both rated about 750, he won he got 5 points..we played again i won ..i got like 15....and the other day i beat someone with 900 and i got a massive 2 points.

i hv the same problem as well!! when i beat s.b. has higher rank than i do,i gain so little,,,but when i lose against rank tht is lower then myself i lose bloody loadz!! cant understand what kinda theory does konami have!! =[
