Red Cards

I get like a red card every match. On Fifa 08 I hardley ever got cards but for the same offence I would get a red on PES. One time I was down to 7 men! I prefer PES to Fifa but apart from the Red cards.
Also I am always being called offside, when i'm not interfering with play.

Am I the only one?

I don't think PES 2008 is advanced enough for the new offside rule!
Its just a pity the linesman couldn't be a bit more erratic.

I do get red cards sometimes, but I seem to pick up more yellow for clean tackles from the front. Also there seems to be a 50/50 chance that whoever I am playing gets a penalty if I make a clean tackle in the box for some reason... Nothing more annoying as well when some prat turns around just as you go in for the slide or moves one leg out of the way so you get booked -.-

Oh and dodgy offsides happen a lot for me as well, there are times when I am attacking, their defender tackles me, it bounces off him and goes to my striker who is 1v1 and then he is offside :S

Unless you slide into every tackle you wont get many red cards, plus its better if theres a chance of someone getting sent off as this makes it more interesting.

I never ever get red cards, aside from the very occasional misplaced slide tackle in the box. And yeah in FIFA you can generally get away with most things. I mean this is the game where you used to be able to set a Diciplinery level for the ref from high to low...

And the offside rule I've found is okay, except a few ones I'd have said were level, and yeah the linesmen should make more wrong decisions, same with refs (not over tackles, like whether a ball's gone in or not) because it makes the game more interesting.

The ref on pes2008 is a damn lunatic, some of the decisions I've seen made are laughable, damn laughable.

Offside tends to be the worst, with through balls hitting defenders and then setting up a striker, but it is still offside even though the ball hit the opposition...wtf

It all seems to be about if you hit the ball first or not. And tackles you may not intend to hurt anyone might hit someones anckle by mistake, which usually is yellow card.

Took me a while to get used to, but now I rarely get more than one yellow card a game and it's been two seasons since I got a red one.

Cant say ive had many red cards but yeah, the ref is a lunatic and has itchy card fingers. Nearly every match i get a yellow for a " bad " tackle that isnt even bad...

yes i agree i always get offside when im not and not inerfering with play. sometimes when i do a pefect tackle i get booked and sometimes you can run past a player and the ref gives a freekick and they can do a foul on your player and get nothing and you do the exact same thing and dont grt a freekick takes the piss i usually get a red card a game the most ive had is 6 and they had to end the game konami need to sort this mess out and not just fouls evey other issue with this

Not meaning to sound like an arse. But if it is like how you describe it you must be doing something wrong?

To be onside, the opposition has to make a controlled play of the ball. That doesn't mean that PES doesn't still arse it up every match, though. The whistle blows regardless of who actually gets control of the ball, so there's very little opportunity to take advantage of defensive errors.

I've had the opponent's keeper attempt to clear an incoming ball out of the box on the one-touch, and when my striker, who was charging the keeper, picked it up, offside was called. Also, the game doesn't seem to understand that headers count as controlled plays and that arms can't be offside.

offside is stupid on the game the amount of times i'm level and i get called offside, when there player tackles me i get called offside. as for tackles sometimes i do perfect tackles or my opponents do perfect tackles and concede penalties. that ruins the game especially if the game has just kicked off 30 seconds ago and someone gets sent off for good tackle. it's anoying but i guess you just have to except the errors of the game as they exist in realife football.
