Is it just me or do referees seem to book players for almost every slide tackle.
I've already had vidic sent off and the computer had alonso sent off. And have yet to see a game with no yellow cards. And i have been playing the hell out of this demo
Now im not a dirty player, i got that 'gentleman's' award in the PES 2008.
What are your thoughts?

Yeah you do seem to get booked even if the tackle is 'clean' but i don't have your problem. There is very few matches i get booked most of them i don't get carded.

Too many bookings.. I hope it's linked to the ref like old pes, someone booked too much, someone else less...

While I don't mind the odd yellow card, I am hoping it gets fixed or is just linked to the referee. Weird to see someone get booked within the first 10 minutes of a game with their first tackle!

I think all you guys just suck at tackling cuz I really haven't had ANY problems, not ONE red card, just saw a few deserved yellows... Played about 15 games

Yep I agree.

One time, I was running with Torres. And Rio made a perfectly clean tackle. He got the ball and everything.

He got sent off and I got a pen. It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

I had the same the game sent me off with ronaldo for sliding and gettin the ball.

Also i radom computer slides in too, and that can be annoying.

Yeah the refs do give out a lot of yellow and red cards. luckily for me most of the red cards have been aimed at the comp so far. played one game as france vs italy and italy got 2 players red carded and 2 or 3 yellow carded. and got 2 penalties against man utd as barcelona. hope they fix it slightly so they dont give out quite as many cards for the full version but not too much cos it does make me watch my tackles so it makes the game a bit more exciting. although it is a bit annoying when you clearly get the ball and the ref blows the whistle.

i hardly get booked, the ai on the other hand, i love seein a card get pulled out against it. one occasion i was henry runnin into the box and a defender slid, dirty bastard got sent out and had messi do the pk

I almost always get booked for side tackling, even if the tackle is clean....

With the PC, it's the other way around... it almost never gets booked...

I did find this in the demo on 360 the ref would blow for silly little challenges which to me where just shoulder to shoulder. If I slid the cpu I got blown and booked oftern yet if I was taken out by the cpu it was fine.

I hope this is tweeked before the final release.

Just time your tackles right and you won't get booked. The only issue I have is the auto-AI tackling the opposition alone and you can't seem to change the auto-AI level in the demo.

Is there any kind of advantage in PES?

It's irritating when the game is constantly paused for small fouls and offside calls, even though it could just be play on.

Refs are problematic to say the least...Card happy even at the beggining of a match and without any particular reason. One of the major faults of Pes2009 in my opinion, along with butter finger keepers and "that" ball noise...

i was playing it 2day and got red card for almost nothing,i swr the refree in this game are retarded,
i cant prove that he gave me red card but i used frap to record the foul

just because u get the ball in a tackle doesnt make it clean all the time

im happy with the bookings an that, on pes 08 u never got booked at all, had loads of seasons where i didnt get any bookings or had 1 or 2

at least now it will be more realistic and more players will be booked and you will have to watch the tackles

well least the referee's are balanced. There might be alot of bookings, but most of you have stated that the computer is gettin a few aswell.
