How do you stop the retired players (e.g. Maldini after a few seasons) from returning as youngsters with ridicululously good stats and being signed by teams. I don't want to sign these players or have them waste the 'authenticity' of the game. These returning players have most of their stats in the 90s, better than even the classic players! Does anyone else have this problem?

yeh i know its ridiculous. everyone has the problem. i mean les ferdinand and di canio have stupid stats when they come bak. they come bak at 17 yrs old and have top speeds at 99. di canio has a few at 99 if i can recall. its real dumb. i dont wanna buy them and i dont know how to stop other teams from buyin them (apart from not buying them in the shop). i was playin barcelona once and they bought on george best. and hes sooo f**kin annoyin. i cant tackle him, and if i do, i get carded or i miss him and hes through on goal. they r 2 good which makes it sooo shit. they should come bak, but come bak with decent stats, not superman stats. im sure pele will feel offended. coz i would!

Yea I find it very annoying. Typical situation: Big Wefa Championships match, I was Man Utd, away at Barcelona. My well put together team, with no players playing who would be seen as unrealistic to buy eg no gerrards or henry's, versus the catalan giants including ronaldinho. 60 minutes gone, very close game, could go either way. All of a sudden, emerging from the bench appear Manchester United's greatest ever goalscorer Bobby Charlton, and "The wizard of the dribble" Stanley Matthews, to come on for Barcelona. I was shocked to say the least, the buzz you have in a game like that is just taken away when the unrealistic side of Pro comes in.
