Take a look a the brand new Civilization 5 game. It gets 9 or 10 in every review but the fans at Civfanatics.com are shitting over the game, many say it´s the worst in the history of the Civ series. Reviews are often very simplified mainly because they are written in a rush and not played deeply enough by the reviewer. Some peeps believe reviews can be bought for the right price. Don´t know about that but it wouldn´t surprise me if it was true. The amount of money and time that goes into making a big game is huge.

The review scores for this years Pes are very good but I´m starting to ignore reviews after finding out how messed up these sites are. It´s much better to visit the fansites for honest opinions.

Also, quite a lot of reviewers/reviewing websites are paid by developers to rate their games higher (I can see Cod, Fifa, Street Fighter, Tekken and maybe even Halo doing this). It's best to play it yourself and rate it, if you don't like it, ebay it.

didnt IGN give PES2008 like a 9.2? LOL that was the worst game I've ever played and the only PES game that didn't last more than a week in my PS.

The only reviewers I've tended to give any credit to consistently over the years are the Official Playstation Mag. Since I don't own a PS anymore I don't know if that's still the case, but the PSM3 review fo PES2011 seems to me the most accurate and impartial I've read.

I think the reason civ 5 is getting blasted is mainly due to what has been taken out of the game.

The ign review for fifa 11 is laughable really, how long could he have played it for before coming up with a score of 95%, it's basically no different from fifa 10.

Pes 2011 on the otherhand should receive high praise as konami have been far more ambitious in their efforts, and it's looking like they may well have pulled it off.

Fifa is fifa it will get you through a few months, while pes 2011 will last the whole year through.:)
