Running Commentary

I'm not sure if all PES gamers are happy with the quality of inputs from Jon Champion and Mark Lawrenson.Personally though, I'd prefer a shrill, melodramatic commentary by a duo of toothless geezers.Tongue-in-cheek British humour type.Sounds like a crazy idea, but could someone come up with it? I'm going to download it right away!

Well all right, let me put it this way. Frankly, the English commentary by the duo of Jon Champion and Mark Lawrenson has finally taken it's toll on me, lulling me to a state of semi-consciousness from time to time during gameplay and I thought, "What the heck, I gotta do suthing about it!" But the problem is, since English is not my native tongue, I'm afraid that I'd end up messing it up rather than pepping it up. The general idea is to have a MAD magazine-type version of the English commentary. I rest my case. Thank you.

Yeah you're right. Been a bit of a busybody viewing and trying to be a smart aleck at different topics all at the same time. Helter-skelter, I guess. Thanks for pointing it out.

this is a great idea. if this came to life it would be amazing! For now, since i play pc i just switch language commentary every once in a while. Portuguese is fun for now. the english one is so horrible.

No no, please don't get me wrong.I'm not saying the quality of the English commentary is bad or anything to that effect. It's just that it's become so predictable that it's become monotonous.Actually it's just a thought. I'd tried that with PES 2009 already, extracting .adx files from rs0e_s with AFS Explorer, converting them to wav, that sort of stuff. But unfortunately, I wasn't funny enough and my accent wasn't good enough. Anyway, it's a long-drawn-out process, and people have better things to do, I suppose. Maybe I should try Portuguese, eh?

Be honest it is I've heard the same commentary lines for 3 versions now with now and then like now a few new lines but, when I get subbed in 2008 and here.."that it's understandable why I got subbed because I was under performing"..but I end up being Man of the Match and that same thing is in pes 2010 as well..than Seabass doesn't give a shit IMO

Yea. I think commentary is the last thing on Seabass' mind.

What is really wrong with a glottal stop-like omission of the 't' sound in the end? I'm asking just out of curiousity because I study English but I've never been sure about my glottal phenomena.

It's not just that, he also says it as if the last vowel is a U. Softening or even silencing end of word consonants is really common in English, and fine I think to a certain degree. But he just sounds stupid

Agreed! I have the EU-Version (so no Champion & Lawrenson anyway) and the German commentary was so poor and annoying that I have switched to Spanish.

At least Champion sounds like he's commentating, Lawro just sounds like he's reaading it off a page, apart from one or two things.

But the single most annoying thing is when Champion cannot contain his excitement at the prospect of half time.

"its getting close now!!!!" "he's gonna blow his whistle any second now!!"
