Seabass Interview SECRETS OF PES6 (08/10/06)

All I want to say is have you ever heard of a next generation version of a game REGRESSING. Losing features, losing animation, losing quality. I can assure you when I switched from ISS pro evolution soccer 2 on PS1 to pro evolution soccer on PS2 the game did not lose anything.
But that’s what’s happened here with the 360 version, that’s why I will be sticking with the ps2 version, and not supporting konami clear attempt at taking my money for less work. This also shows bias, because I can’t believe that if the ps3 was out they would have done this, no only that but they decided there is no xbox version too. Was porting the game also too much work after they done it for 2 years already, how is this fair?

But alas, he has the right to do what ever he wants with his franchise…

A very limited edit mode and only 8 stadiums on the 360 version has killed it for me. I'll begrudgingly stick with the PS2.

This is a fucking disgrace. How the hell can they not have had 'time' to work on the 360 version? For god's sake, the console has been out for a year, and before that dev kits will have been given to developers 4 - 6 months before the console's release. Konami have really let us down here. £40 - 50 for a half arsed game, ridiculous. This is a con, does it remind anyone else of FIFA? Now we have to wait untill next year for a truly great football game. I tell you, the improvements better blow me away, or else i'll have to resort to FIFA 07.

[Rant over and calm again.]

Japan rules in videogames department. Period. If the x360 is doing bad over there, we wont see a decent japanese game in x360 never. Winning Eleven is a japanese game so dont expect much of it in x360, only a port of a ps3 version, think I'm gonna do what Bluescouse says, to trade my x360 for a ps3, FIFA 07 in x360 isnt good either, lucky I only have 4 x360 games, the pain will be smaller, and I will be able to play my 40+ ps2 games in ps3.

Is this confirmed though?

As good as. Screenshots only show 8 stadiums - San Siro, Nou Camp, Stadio Olimpico, Stade Louis II, Bernebeu, Amsterdam Arena, River Plate's El Monumental Stadium and some kind of wierd Old Trafford/Stamford Bridge hybrid.

Not a good show. So basically, next-gen means we get less of everything? And Konami have had at least 18 months to work on this as PESAddict said.

But Seabass has said the Playstation pad is ideal for PES. Its what the game is designed around!

The game could be shit hot if you don't like the pad it is shit. I have always been like that with the 360. I just can not get into games with that pad and it was the same with the XBOX.

Xbox 360 for PS3.........

I may consider trading my 360 in for a PS3 the way things are going.

I read an official interview last week stated that PS3 will be three times better than Xbox 360 in almost all fields. To me, I think that there is a little bit exaggeration of PS3 abilities. On the other hand, there is no rumour without, let's say, truth. Therefore, I am pro PS3, moreover I trust Sony. So I suggest you to take such step and trade your 360 for a PS3 soon.

What do they mean not full edit mode? What will be missing from it?
If I cant edit kits, Change names and move players from team to team. Ill play fifa or if thats crap skip PES. I falked out for a 360 to get next gen experience and now I have to wait for sony to catch up cos seabass is a fanboy?? Konami you sellouts, You have dissapointed ALOT of people

I agree that Seabass favours all things Playstation. Reading between the lines it seems that Seabass is bitter that next-gen PES has arrived on the 360 before the much-delayed PS3. Konami have had over a year to develop for the 360 (which is an easy console to program for according to those in the know) so all these excuses about pressures of time don't wash with me. As a result, he's made a half-arsed version of PES6 for the 360 in the hope that many people will reconsider buying a 360 and continue with the PS2, and in time then buy PES7 on the PS3. I think he's trying to make PES6 on the 360 a failure so that he can concentrate on the PS3. Maybe Sony is involved behind the scenes?

I know some of you will disagree with this conspiracy theory but thats how i see it. And its a shame that Konami doesn't want to embrace a multi-format PES. Say what you want about EA, but they give each format their full attention and i might even give FIFA 07 a look this year.

Your analysis seems logic and wise. I completely agree with it. Seabass favours Playstation over Xbox, no doubt. Also, he is trying to make people pay more attention to PS3. But I think that PES6 on 360 will not be that bad because simply Seabass does not want to loss the american market and his reputation..

Depending on how much i'm earning at the time of the PS3 release, i may buy one. But at the moment it would certainly look like i'll be trading my 360 in for a PS3.

Who knows though, the PS3 could be 3 times better in all fields than the 360 when it finally comes out, they would of had what.....14 months since the release of the 360 and during that time they must have made a more powerful machine than their main rival.

after reading that it becomes more obvious that konami need somekind of european development team.
