Self Imposed ML Rules

What rules do you make yourself follow to make your master leaugue experience more difficult. I'm at the point where my roster is loaded with talent. I was think of just using players from certian countries. Another possibility could be no allowing myself to sign any 17 year olds with a stat above 80. Anyone have any unwritten rules the play the master league by?

On PES 3, i had a rule where i only bought players who had no club. So i couldn't buy all the top players. But still got players like Babangida, Djorkaeff etc.

I still won everything though

Good idea.

Especially when you find the ML to easy setting yourself rules seems like the only way forward. Next time I start a game I am only going to to start with the default team and only buy in players from Africa. You could always pick the match mode side for your team and buy no players in, you would need a side with quite a few players as when they start to retire you could be in trouble.

i think the best thing is to slowly lower your salary. under 15k seems like a good enough challenge, or maybe even more.(EDIT*:less salary)

I unlocked all the Classic Teams well after I started my ML, but all the players from those teams still ended up available for purchase. I'm not buying any player with a number after his name, but I wish I could stop the computer from doing so. Pele '70 on Athletico Madrid just ain't right.

Yeah i like that, i have been playing with my self imposed rules for a while.

I only buy one player per transfer season, and i try to make it "realistic" so if it's a player thats been linked in the media to the club or a player thats falling out at another club etc.

Keeps a interest in the ML longer for me and a little more realistic.

In my latest Master League i imposed a rule that i can only sign players from Croatia. It makes the play more interesting. You can get only 3 classic players (Suker, Prosinecki and Boban) and there's only 30 regular players to choose from when you're starting (most of them in late 20's).
I feel it makes me play better - usually i was picking a lot of youngsters at the end of season one and somehow the playing wasn't so fun anymore. Right now i need to focus on team playing and waiting for a replacement to Prso as he is declining fast :).
I'm in the 2nd season now and still didn't manage to have full croatian squad, but that is mainly due to my intermediate skills at the game.
Lot of fun tho!
Anyone else building a national squad in ML?

I wouldnt go for just a national team as there isnt enough selection and you would nearly always end up with the same as the real national team. I think doing a continent team, such as Africa or Asia or maybe a team chosen from just Scandinavia would be better.

I always make sure i have at least 7 or 8 home grown players, ie Italian players if i'm Juve. And i don't use classic players.
