Set pieces!

One of the biggest problems i have wit PES is the set pieces, i dont mean the difficulty people have scoring from a direct free kick but rather indirect free kicks and throw ins.

Free Kicks:
The biggest problem i have is the inability the score from an indirect free kick, i mean a free kick from somewhere you cant shoot from say out wide or near the halfway line. At the moment the only option is a short pass from the halfway line, i think if players could gather in the box and if you could float a ball in from distance this would be fantastic. From the wing is the same, sometimes players gather in the box but other times they dont depending on where the free kick is taken from. I believe you should havee the option to send players up into the box for a free kick from anywhere. If players gathered in the box you would have a better chance of scoring from them and add more realism.

Player Runs:
From set pieces. When i whip a corner in or a free kick player runs are random and inconsistent, players will sometimes run in and jump up and score other times they stand behind a defender and do nothing, if there was a Set piece editor placed in the game allowing you to create certain set pieces, pick out player runs and pick were players should stand while waiting on a cross it would enhance set pieces hugely and add more realsim.

Throw ins:
A throw in is a chance to begin an attacking move, throw ins are simple and easy from most places but further up there a chance to score goals like stoke do.Firstly Some sort of power bar should be introduced to vary long throws and actually get them into the box so a player can attack them! Secondly the option to get players into the box like stoke do to create attacking options and a chance to score, this again would increase the chances of scoring.

Set pieces are possibly the most important aspect of football nowadays and that should be sepresented in the game, teams like Stoke used them to there advantage last season and as we seen can decide where a team finishes in the league. A set piece editor were you can create player runs and what players do while waiting for a cross along with more defensive options for corners such as keeping players upfield like Man City do to stop teams sending lots of players up ( say they keep robininho ireland elano and phillips at the half way line that means the oppositon will need to keep players there to defend from a counter attack and thus have less options in the box) this would increase counter attacking options and so on... Thank you for your time.

One last thing, the suggestions by liverpoolsco were fantastic and i suggest yeveryone who wants pes to be imprved reads them....

Thanks for the mention. Definately behind your suggestions. I feel that set pieces could have a lot more work done on them. Its a level playing field for teams that aren't as strong and for many years you have seen Bolton use this to there advantage and now Stoke have come along. Even when Chelsea won there 2 titles in 2004/05 2005/06 they used set pieces to there advantage. It happens in international football where smaller teams are good on set pieces such as corners and free kicks. Having a way of being more creative with these situations would really help make the game more fun, more realistic and much more creative and suit the style of different players and there for more challenging.
