shooting and volleying advice needed??

hi i am new to the forums, but i have been a avid veiwer for a while,
finally signed up.
i have played all of the pro-evo games to date as the series has moved on.
i do have a couple of questions i was hoping could be answered

1 volleying, whenever i try to volley my player tends to header it, is this all down to timing or should i be pressing a certain button?

2 Shooting, when i shoot from outside the box it either goes straight to the goal keeper or over the bar, is there anything i should be looking out for, also if i want to bend the ball is this all down to pressing the d-pad after my player has shot?

i have been alot of goals in the gallery and i must be doing something wrong as i never score the kind of goals in there.

Firstly welcome to the site. Be sure to post on the introduce yourself section.
1. It's all about timing for me.
2. It's a bit unpredictable. You can also hold R2 just after you press square to shoot to put emphasis on accuracy and not power. It may sound obvious but you will need someone with a decent shot acc, shot tec. and shot power.
If you volley or half-volley from outside the area you only need to slightly tap it.
