i just wanted 2 know what u all think of the shooting on winning eleven 9 from the different types off shots 2 the positions u have 2 be in 2 get a decent shot away i have noticed that u can find the bottom corner from really awkward positions just wanted 2 know if u think its improved or could be more improved or if u think the shootings worse :)

Ive had the game for about 4 days now, and i find it is harder to shoot, but im getting used to it, and its more realistic.

I was just playing with my friend today and I've scored a couple screamers from a long way out, long shots are definately better now, if you've got the player in a good position and has good control on the ball, and hit it with the right foot, you can get a good shot

The long shot accuracy will increase if your player have the middle shot star...
moreover this time round shooting is realistic so have to see if its hit by a left or right foot and the contact of the shot...(how the foot contact the ball)

Honestly, I kinda liked the shooting in WE8:LE. You still could do long shots, if timed it right and with the right players. And the shot gauge was just perfect IMO.

Now in WE9, you have the R2 shot. Firstly, this is a great new addition, but they've messed it up a bit(IMO) by sorta forcing you to rely on it when shooting inside the box. Anything else is fairly inaccurate or too powerful. (by virtue of having a very fast shot power gauge).

These animations can appear spot on at times, but can also appear dodgy sometimes. Since the player is in control of when to execute a sidefoot, sometimes the animation results in an unrealistic shot being made when compared to the player positioning. (sometimes = not often enough to be distracting though).

More emphasis is given to long range shooting, and you tend to score more from these if you haven't mastered the nuances of when to use r2, or not to use R2 inside the box. On one hand it's great, but if success rate is too high, it can get stale quickly.

As for volleying, it so much easier to pull off now, but sometimes I feel that for a split second the CPU had already decided to do it for you. I prefered that of WE8:LE where you had to manually hold off your player and wait for the right moment to hit off a volley.

(IMO I still feel WE8:LE got most of the offensive balance right except the part that the amrking wa so tight that u had to really work hard with 'super cancel' and R2 to get onto passes and crosses to finish them off).

Header are also easier (although I didn't have much problem with WE8:LE, unlike some people). I hate the leaning and heading animation though as its the most common animation so far. Overemphasis on body movement IMO. Again, WE8:LE got it almost right except for the stupid stooping headers which were quite common.

But then again, quite more variety to the different header tyoes available and I'm sure i've not seen them all yet.

For those who are coming off WE8/PES4 and have never experienced WE8:LE, I think WE9 will seem very much improved. For those coming off WE8:LE hovever, not everything will be liked.

In conclusion, we'll all just keep on playing thru, and wait till the next one comes around. (hoping for some very-very fine tuning for PES5).

Cheers

When you are shooting inside the box if you hold r2 it places your shot rather than just smacking it making it simpler to find the bottom corner .With practice you can also increase your power and get some great well placed shots from out side the box.
