Should Konami work more on their Minimalistic Approach??

Let's talk about PES09, about the so-called New Features that PES09 will (or should) have.. the New Manual Passing System, sounded cool at 1st, it was said to be a "New Feature" -but- apparently, the same manual passing system has been in the game for Some Time Now.

So, apart from sounding like a Complex Feature, where you have to push one button -only- to then start dealing with the R3 button.. apart from sounding too Slow and complex for the Gameplay, this is No New Feature.

With that said, I want to go straight to the Point.. Why doesn't Konami goes Simpler?? Just a SIMPLE Feature that people can (and will) actually use.

What's the Most used Button when playing PES?? The R2 button, the "Pass and Move" control.. it is extremely Simple and yet Important to the Gameplay.

Why doesn't Konami just Elaborates on that Simplicity?? Those Minimalistic and yet Useful Controls have always been Important to the good Old versions of PES.

And somehow, aside from the Gameplay, that is what Separates (or distinguishes) PES from FIFA the most. Where FIFA uses a series of Slow and Arcadey Controls such as the Dribbling system, wich Inlvolves having to push and hold the L2 button only to then handle the R3 button..

Something that makes the game feel (and Play) Arcade -because- the Controls are just too Slow for the Gameplay. FIFA has always been full of Slow and Complex Controls..

Whereas PES has always been about the Simple and yet Useful Controls.. PES had simpler and more Intuitive Controls, and regardless, PES had more Depth and Substance than FIFA.

So again, Why doesn't Konami just Elaborates on that Minimalistic Approach that has served them so well in the Past?? Simply Implementing another "Tactical" control along with the Old "Pass and Move" control..

Yes, simply Implementing the control FIFA has been using for years.. the "Trigger Player Run" control via the L1 button. The one where you just Tap the L1 button in order to trigger a Forward Run, the one where you Don't Need to Pass the ball just so the Forwards start making attacking runs.

Alongside the "Pass and Move" via the R2 -the- "Trigger Player Run" via the L1 button -would- add a Significant bit of Depth to an already good Gameplay.

The old issue (and Flaw) of getting stuck in the middle of the pitch because (for some unknown reason) the Rest of the Team does Not wants to run into Open Gaps.. In that Type of Situation (wich is quite common in PES) we would have a New "Alternative" with the "Triggering Player Run" control.

Because Unlike the Pass and Move via the R2 button -with- the Triggering Player Run Control we Don't need to Pass the ball.. Meaning that in Situations where our Team-mates are (for some reason) static, we can simply Tap the L1 button to Trigger an Attacking Run.

It would be a New Feature to PES, it would give us some New Variations, it would be Simple and yet Important -and- fans of the series would no doubt find it Useful.

What are your Thoughts on this matter??

Should Konami work harder on Elaborating that Minimalistic Approach??

Would something like the "trigger Player run" control help??

Is Konami really trying to produce an Updated version of PES5 -or- are they merely releasing PES5 with Graphical updates??

How hard can it be to Implement a Simple and yet Significant feature such as the "Triggering Player Run" move??

Personally, the FACT that they have Not mentioned anything about something Simple and yet Significant.. it makes me wonder if Konami are really trying.

well actually if you watched the Seabass interview he states that a new player run system will be featured but its totally automatic it seems..the players find the gaps and start running....

Actually, after reading the Post once.. Now I'm starting to feel that maybe the so-called "New" Manual Passing feature is Konami's own "Trigger Player Run" move.. I'm not sure, but because it Involves pushing the L1 button..

Maybe it is something Similar to the "Trigger Player Run" that I mentioned, wich is done by SIMPLY Tapping the L1 button.

With that said, maybe Konami's system is actually better than what I suggested -but- they have to do it properly, because we don't want Average players making World Class Tactical Runs on a Consistent basis.

I would love it if the system was determined by Stats.. for example Stats to determine How well the player moves without the Ball, to determine a player's Tactical Capabilities -and- instead of making the Runs ourselves via the Right Stick..

I think it would be better if we just Decided what Type of run we want our players to perform -while- How well the player executes that assigned run is determined by Stats.

For example, if we push the Left Stick to the Right -then- the Forward executes an Attacking Run to Right -And- so on, meaning that we could have at the very least 4 Variations.

A similar System (Or Control) would work wonders along-side the old "Passing and Move" control.

And then again, maybe Konami's New Passing system is something similar.. although I'm just guessing here. But what is clear is that Konami is replacing their previous SIMPLE controls -with- more Complex controls..

This could turn out to be a good thing -but- it could also improve for the worst.

Personally, I would prefer further Elaborated Simple controls like the ones I already mentioned (and suggested).

Anyways, I just wanted to see what the Fans thought about this so-called "Improvements" and New Features. Maybe someone haves a clearer Idea of how Konami's system will work.
