You are the Sunderland of humans - The lowest of the low.

  Its comments like this that give 'Newcastle Fans' a bad name I don't mind humour but this is really immature - In my opinion

Come on Arca.. that wasn't a truly hideous comment from screech at all, justa light hearted football banter comment - I mean, Sunderland truly ARE rooted to the bottom of their division, and this is clearly meant to be a funny dig at you because of that alone. Take a chill pill.

I'd say the same to a pompey fan (if we weren't languishing in a shit spot in the championship.... :( )

I dont think he was attacking the team though he was attacking the fans! there is no thought put into these comments. Thats not banter.

I am chilled, Screech is obviously a very nice chap

I have been a lifelong fan of the Pro Evolution Soccer Series (the game's life that is, not my own!). I was terribly disappointed by the fact that there was no fluidity to the play. The players were sluggish and easily caught by the opposition, and don't even get me started on the way that the players sidestep every time they change direction.

I stuck with the game though and tried to give it every opportunity to redeem itself. And that is when I found FIFA 2006. I think it's because I am a shallow man, but I liked the aesthetics of the game, and the fact that they had finally paid some much needed attention to the ball physics.

That said I do still love the Pro Evolution Soccer series and would definitely consider buying it in the future. I don't however, think that I will be going back to my copy of Pro Evo 5 for quite some time! Shame to waste £40, but what can I do? I am incredibly shallow when it comes to graphical mastery.

I hope I haven't alienated myself from this forum. If it helps, I still play a lot on Pro Evo 4 - in my opinion the best of the Pro Evos so far!

Yep like everyone else said, you will last about 4 weeks tops before realising what you've done.

And it's not worth appologising to us, you need to appologise to yourself. FIFA is the pits for gameplay, and a siren (as in beauitful killer women who sings) for many ignorant footy fans.

I wager 13,000 PES Shop Points that you'll be back playing PES5 in the next month.

He like other Fifa fans must mean

"I love Fifa, what a game it is! I can win 6 nil with Sunderland against Man Utd and score great halfway line goals. I love the licenses, better then PES5 could ever get. Everton have last years collor and this years stripe on the side and the Chang Elephant looks like a Rhino but who cares!"

The Licenses are bad and so is the gameplay.
He's not a Fifa fan though, is he? He merely purchased it.

My dear friend after your first day of FIFA you'l get back at ProEvo....

For me I started playing ISS Pro Evolution then all PES and never felt the desire to go back.
And I bet if someone would take ISS Pro Evolution and updated the graphics and alll stuff, but leaving the gameplay, it would still be better than FIFA.
Will be happy to see you back after that dreadfull experience.

Is it possible to swing the ball out of the pitch? Let me know if it can be done cos I have not been playing Fifa for some years now(except for the demo).

Fifa doesnt even come close to WE series, and it never will because no matter how good EA will make there games, Konami will keep making theirs better. No game will ever come close to winning eleven. They have always been the best, even back in the day when International Superstar Soccer 64 was out, that game killed everything, and I'd still choose it over the fifa games today. Fifa is unrealistic, the goalies perform the same the 3 dives, you can score up to 10 different goals, you can score from halfway line with any player, you can lob the keeper from 2 feet away from the keeper. ITs just garbage, i bought 06 because i like playin master league, and then i wait for WE9, like wen we7 came out, i bought WE7 den wen Fifa came out bought it played it untill WE8, den wen fifa 06 came out i played it for a month, i buy fifa only for career mode, but i ddint wait for we9 to get back to we series, after a month of fifa i put the WE disk back in, and said to myself, why did i leave u. I havent played Fifa since, and im gettin we9 in 5 days...cant wait!!!!! :D

ONLY play fifa if the only console you've got is a gamecube. Thats what i did until i got my ps2 and pes5 for xmas. I went straight down to a games shop and traded in fifa 06 and got burnout 3 and final fantasy 10. Both of those are far superior to fifa.

Even with the Licences FIFA still looks poor. It's dark, has a sluggish feel and the players has no realism at all. Every goal you score is the same. FIFA is a game for the people which really have no heart for real football, FIFA is for people who just want the easy option, the more fun* option. =/

* = Absolute Bollocks.

For me there are a few things about FIFA that just makes me wonder why anyone would play it.

For example, you cannot curl corners? Why shouldn'ty I be able to do that? Who the fuck thought that out? I guess they think curl option is one thing too much for the FIFA players to handle.

Also, the Free-kick system is utter crap. An Arrow with a shoot power gauge? No curl options? It isn't fun when the AI takes a freekick from 35 metres out, seeing it go absolutely pin-straight towards the goal (And the worst part is tha tthe goalie will miss it sometimes even though he has full visibility of a non-curling shot.

Some things they did get righ (or right-er), for example the dribble moves that are more fluid than PES, when just walking around and controlling the ball. Also, the completely analog control over cross direction.

Other than that, it is garbage.

Brilliant! I always love it when some dejected individual, sick to death that "PES is too hard and doesn't have all the licences", comes on and declares his defection to FIFA. It makes my day reading the ensuing accurate, yet maverick comedy comments, and makes me remember that no matter how bad it gets, there is always someone worse off than you, lured in by the "siren" FIFA. The slanty pitch on the Megadrive back int day was enough to turn me off....

Anyway, all the very best of luck to you and FIFA, son. If you're not back soon, then I'm Chris Waddle. See you soon.

i have been a WE fan since i started playing the ISS series few yrs back.. it's a breakthrough in soccer stimulation games.. once in a while... i will give fifa a try because the license part always looks to b attractive.. but it disappoint time and again and i eventually gave up in 04.. den.. fifa 06 came up and gathered lots of good reviews, commenting it to be the best fifa series!!! giving fifa another chance and for their willingness to improve and being able to switch to "WE type of controls", i gave it one last shots... the game had lots of features in it.. including a profile which will record every single match u played and rate u accordingly.. u also get to unlock classic highlights and lots of new tings, just like in winning eleven..
i played the career mode which is structured closed to more detailed planning.. including choosing the sponsor, ticket price and earn more money to upgrade ur stadium.. as u win matches, u will also boost ur team's chemistry, upgrade ur coaching team... the features will let u put in so much concentration to play through ur season...
ultimately.. fifa failed agn in the gameplay... despite all the stylish features every serious football gamer look for, the most vital thing still fail to secure me to be a reborn fifa fan.... obviously.. the gameplay tried to structure itself to be like winning eleven... but it lacks the fludity in it, unrealistic ball route, animations and AI... it's difficult to dribble as the players react slowly and movement is just not smooth... in term of graphics... WE is also more superior, offering more crisps in colours....
In the end... my fifa adventure din last more den a week even though i tried hard to give it chances for all the fancy features it offered... in conclusion... it still fail to deliver, with every new WE series dragging the distance more n more far from fifa.. if WE managed to get all the license of the "beautiful game" and do abit of altering to their otherwise perfect master league... i guess it's abt the end of fifa...

wow hearing some of the comments and yea who is this guy comin on and telling us he moving to fifa you know why because he can't hack pro evo 5 whats he chattin not fluid hahaha sorry mate but if ur any good at it you soon realise how fluid it is and how quick it is we had this wen it first came out and everyone seem to overcome it but i guess you are one of the few who all the reviews said theres gonna be some just left behind because its a whole new ball game, mate we all play fifa time to time i still do i played fifa 2003 tht was the last time i played but i got myself a 360 for xmas and fifa was on and omg some of u r wrong about it being easy it aint easy but thts the point it aint the fact they play harder or nothing its the fact u cant link up passes properly it takes u about half hour to turn and pass and the formation system is so simple it just doesnt put the men where u want them to go and omg fifas power bar pass it dont even work and about the shots from long range hahaha they still try and pass it in, non of the players look like them selves ok a lil but nah, and they all look chunky and have u ever noticed in fifa how it seems to always jump no matter wat ya doin the replays r the worsed for tht, and the fact is players shot wiv there wrong foot even on given the chance to use there stronger foot, of course i will buy fifa in the furture just like someone said to pass the time for the next pro evo.
anyway about the licenses pro evo isn't that bad at least every players called there real name near enough except the odd few and the star players do look like there real star players, just one thing mate i dont wat ur gaming is like but from my point of view u must be really crap at pro evo to convert to fifa as i've onli ever seen 2 things happen in convertin 1: they convert from fifa to pro evo or 2 there a fifa fan and wanted to see wot the fuss was about for pro evo and end up becomin a pro evo player never the other way round hahaha loser u must be realli poo at nthe game and i dont understand how u can go from a fluid game to a game what cant even play rite

fifa 2002 was great fun - scoring from the half way line haha, but then the fifa series just got too slow and concentrated too much on graphics

PES RULES!!!
